Budgie breeders in Istanbul

Hello everyone!

I know this might seem like an odd request, and I am sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place...(please move it if so)

but I wanted to put it out there to anyone who might know of any budgie breeders in Istanbul? My sister-in-law wants to get two and does not want to buy them from the pet shops in the city (of which there are many), because these birds are on the whole not very well looked after, and she doesn't want to contribute to the trade.

I suggested she go to some exotic specialist vets in the city to ask if they know any people, but if there is anyone on here who has any connections, please do let me know!


I think she wants two male birds - am I right in thinking two males will get along fine, as opposed to two females? She doesn't want them to breed so she'd rather not get a pair.

Hello and welcome to the forum, unfortunately I am unable to answer your question but rather then let it go unanswered for a while I thought I would let you know someone is reading your post. I don't think we have any Turkish members even, so not sure anyone is going to be able to help you there. If the petshops have them, then someone must be breeding surely ...... do they have a "Pets for Sale" section in the newspaper? Maybe check there or she might even put in an advertisement for "wanting to buy'?? That is about the best I can offer.........
