Just watched your vid. It's the exact same squeak that Blueboy makes although he doesn't have a tail bob. Also he doesn't make it all the time just when he's stressed, preening or eating.

I think he has a goiter, from what I have read about it. It would make sense, he squeaks and doesn't eat the iodine block. I ordered some iodine earlier.

This might not be useful but as I thought of it I'll ask anyway- if a bird has a problem related to a lack of iodine could you grate a bit off a block into the seed pot in the hopes they might eat it then? I'm not asking for my birds (thank goodness) but if it helps anybody now and would be useful to know for future reference maybe?....Just a thought I had

What I actually did earlier was crush harrisons pellets with some iodine block and mix with water and a tiny bit of guardian angel and syringe feed it to blueboy really slowly. we are talking a teeny tiny solution, 0.2ml.

Marianne and Serz, in my hunt for powdered milkthistle I have seen Lugol's iodine in health food stores. It may make it easier for you to get hold of, also I got mine from the pharmacy. You really shouldn't have to order it.

Hezz is right. You can get iodine from the pharmacy. It's called aqueous iodine I think ( also known as Lugolls iodine ). From memory, you put around 7 drops per litre of water, but I can't remember how often to give it.
Some bird seeds, like Trill, already have iodine in them.

Thanks guys. I tried all my local pharmacies yesterday and they said they used to stock it years ago but not anymore. One of them even rang the distributers but they said they didn't stock it to.
Update on my little one. squeaking just when moving or I'm changin food or water ect. shes taken to laying on the bottom of he floor now (so her chest is flat on the floor). Does this mean anything. Her poo is slightly runny and she's not eating much. Just a few husks since yesterday on the floor. Do you guys think it's still goiter?

I think it is her weight Serz and unless that is removed there will be more problems

she has adopted a position on the perch to help make her comfortable Tacey , she may be fluffed but she is also over weight
Excercise and diet Serz , weight is very difficult to get off a fat bird, some birds like humans have weight problems

Thanks for everyone's help and advice but I'm afraid to say that she has just died in my husbands hand. She was sitting funny and panting then just fell over and died. Thanks again for all your help and advice
