Has anyone got any experience of either of these cages? I'm trying to find a new cage as a couple of the bars on the boys cage have snapped loose but I want one as wide as possible so they can have lots of room to play. Both of these cages are a bit wider than the Hagen Vision L01 that I already have so I wanted to see if anyone had any knowledge or opinions, or even other suggestions.

Yes I have the Ferplast 6 and IMO I think its brilliant! It is a real good size and can (supposedly) fit up to 6 buds. However as we know we like to adorn our cages with toys too so I would say to reduce that number! I clean the boys out once a day by removing the bottom trays (there are two and they easily slide out) and taking the top sheets of newspaper off. But at the weekend I remove the cage top from the base and clean in the bath! It is quite a big base so wouldn't fit in your sink unless you had a large belfast one However, despite that I would say it is easy to clean a nice size width wise for the budgie because they can fly to and fro. Oh and the cage comes flat packed but I personally found it quite easy to assemble

I have the ferplast 6 also. Very good size. I have only had 2 living in there at a time. The buds all seem to like the cage. Phineas is the current occupant but Cagney & Bezukhov are in & out during the day.
Have to say that I actually prefer the old design to this new one but the size & shape is the same so I can't fault that.

Hope it all works out, Nina. The Sesame boys deserved a new mansion.

By first class, definitely none of that economy stuff. Are you able to put the cages opposite each other so the doors are almost in line. Or you could use the Hezz method.

I tend to go for the softly-softly approach. That means setting the cage up & when they are out put it alongside the other one & fill it top to toe with millet.

That is not so much for transfering budgies from one cage to another; it was simply that I needed them in the smaller cage at the time so why not? It was more about showing people that it doesn't have to be a traumatic experience for either bird or human. No, mizloco, my way is to set up the new cage, pop them in, and just allow them to explore it. My personal opinion, and my experience is that having familiar things around them, and their budgie friend(s) makes the transition as easy as pie. In fact I had never even considered that a new cage might be difficult for them until someone mentioned it and I was on about my third cage transfer. Quite often if you go looking for problems you will find them, I feel; don't expect any and you probably won't see any. That might all seem a bit blase to some people but these little guys are quite resilient; they don't need to be wrapped up in cotton wool.

And here's me singing your praises, Hezz, for showing us lot how easy it is. I really thought that was the method.
