Hi i have a year old pair of buds ..they have been together for most of their short lives ..I would like to breed them later next year ,,my question is ,this....thinking about getting another cockbird ,,to keep seperately as a tame bird ..if I put him in with the hen together for a while ..in a couple of seasons down the track ..would my hen have a likely hood of bonding with this fella as well or are they monogamous..lol

It does take time to build the bonds; all depends on the personalities of the birds concerned. I don't think anyone would give you guarantees either way. It may work, it may not. When breeding you are better off having two couples nesting at the same time, that way you have a back up if something happens to one or other of the couples, with the ability to foster eggs/chicks to the other pair.
