Hi all,
My budgie, Pixie, has been doing fine for the months she has been in my house. She is still getting used to me and her surroundings. Anyways, since the past few days I have noticed clumps of seeds all around her cage. I thought she was just being a messy eater, but yesterday I saw her pumping her neck and then shaking with seed clumps flying everywhere. So far, the research I've done indeed says she is vomiting and not regurgitating. Her droppings are more green, for sure. If I offer her food, she does eat. She chirps to her favorite songs, too. There are not vets nearby, which I know is terrible. I know this can be one of many different illnesses, and I am very worried. Is there anything I can do right now other than give her head rubs, keep her happy, and make it warm?
Thank you very much for any responses...

Also, she's been rubbing her face/beak against her perches and cage bars, but she also has lots of pin feathers so that might be why...

Do you have any apple cider vinegar? Organic, with "the mother" is the best and very good for keeping the acidic and bacteria balance in the birds' crop. As a preventative, it is around three drops per 100 mls of water. For a sour crop I think I remember it is about 1ml per 100mls. But there are many other things that could be the cause. Did you check through this site? www.birds-online.de/gesundheit/gesinfektion/wuergen_en.htm

Hi Hezz,
Thanks for the help again, really appreciate! Members of another forum also said the same thing, and I've given her 1/2 tsp of apple cider vinegar to 1 cup of water. Literally just now. I held it to her and she drank it readily, so I'm very happy about that. Do you think this amount I gave is sufficient? Also, it is not the one with "the mother," I tried looking very hard for it but I just got the 5% without the mother because the store didn't have it. I will also try chamomile tea tomorrow! She is better from the morning today, hasn't vomited and her droppings are solidifying. Fingers crossed!
Happy holidays! Oh, and will check the link, thanks!

Yes, I found some new seeds on the newspaper quite far from her food dish, hope that wasn't vomit. It was very little, anyways. I'm very happy because she is drinking her ACV! And grinding her beak.

Thanks! But another update, she has been throwing up I believe... Am giving chamomile tea in her food and ACV in her water, she's eating and drinking like always!

At this stage I would suggest getting her to the vet, as I think you need more expertise than we can give you. I do understand, though, that this isn't do-able. Continue with the ACV, strengthen the dosage if she will still drink it - most don't seem to mind it. Do you have any health food stores close by? This would be your best bet, I fee, for finding the ACV that works best. As well as the one jellybean gave the link for, there is also another well-regarded brand, called Braggs. It also can be ordered on-line, and you shouldn't have any problems importing it either. Otherwise, I am sorry, I don't know what to suggest. Read through the link I gave in my other post; maybe something there will ring bells with you and give you more idea about what could be wrong. I am sorry. I hope Pixie gets rid of this bug, whatever it is that is causing her grief.

She is drinking chamomile tea and ACV (separately) and luckily she hasn't vomited recently. Thank God! I will strengthen the ACV a bit. I've noticed her droppings are more wet than normal, but otherwise are fine. This is probably because I am encouraging her to drink periodically, bringing water near her. She gulps it down, poor thing. I had come across that link before, and it did give some idea but not really. Maybe she actually is regurgitating! She hasn't done the shaking thing, but has been pumping her neck and "yawning" repeatedly. She might just be trying regurgitating, but doesn't like the feeling so she might've shaked that one time?? I don't even know... Thanks for the advice, I really appreciate it. Best wishes!
