Ahhh bless the little chap, he is so like my Jo in that last pic right down to shape of his feathers at the end's. My Jo has had a couple of these incidents SQ and is wobbly and a bit weak for about 24hrs afterwards. I think its the blood loss, the feathers bleed dreadfully don't they, more so in the FM buds i think. Fingers crossed little Titch will grow stronger each day

He's much perkier today. Standing on his perch and not falling over when I moved the cage. I have put him next to the aviary so he can see and hear his mates. I really don't know what to do with him now though. The bridge that I've been going to cross when I got to it is now right under my feet. I knew I would have to make new arrangements for him at some point but what they are is yet to be decided. I would love him to be with his friends in the aviary but he can't handle it as it is set up now. I would have to change the layout drastically and I would still worry about him. The other option is to cage him. But I would have to put someone in with him. I have very little options there. There is Tweedle, his best friend and the other surviving bird from the 4 that I rescued with him but he has a very strong bond with Phoebe. Then there's Jasper who isn't really a budgies budgie, he keeps away from everyone but he came with Sorbet who desperately tries to get close to him so would miss him like mad. Or there's Larry who is a very unsocial bird, not nasty just keeps himself out of the action. Then there's Echo, my lounge bird. That would mean introductions and a cage change. He is in a vision cage so the food bowls would be impossible for Titch to use. If I could put him back in the aviary the other birds take good care of him, they all seem to feed him at times so he is well loved but they also knock him down a lot too. Lights out time is the worst time for him, they all want prime spot so Titch gets pushed about. Oh the decisions are so hard.

Glad he is perkier, such a shame he can't be with his friends, only you can make that decision, could you not get a smaller cage just for him and put him next to Echo, so Echo could go see him. It is funny how your birds have their own personalities. I hope all goes well for you and manage to cross that bridge skipping with a joyful heart. I am sure you will come up with something that will suit everyone

Just went into the bird room AKA the utility room, and all the boys were sat next to Titch's cage chatting to him. How sweet is that? The girls were looking aloof as ever.

What a sweet family! Hugs to you, Titch and the boys. Guess we should hug the girls, too. They are just playing aloof.

Trust the males stick together, makes you wonder what they are conjuring up or what they have said to the girls I bet that has perked Titch up even more. Come on Titch

Just found Phoebe paying a visit to him so even the girls are missing him.
He was on his back again though, had to pick him up and put him back on his perch. His little feet were ripping at his feather again. I think I may have to put Larry in with him, he seems to be the one that feeds him most and spent most time visiting him earlier and he's the laziest one who doesn't "use" the aviary, preferring to veg out in a corner on his own. Titch is still not his usual chirpy self yet though, just sleeping mostly.

Probably an obvious suggestion, and you have already been there, but will he eat eggfood, or boiled egg, SQ?? I just thought that extra energy food might help his poor little body recover, even GA. Anything to help give him back his spirit. I guess you will just have to experiment with him and cage-mates for a while to decide what works best for him. C'mon Titch, we are all behind you, little man.

C'mon Titch, we are all behind you, little man. He's had egg food with celery leaves Hezz and some of the birdy biscuits I make with oats, banana, apple, and almond milk. Last night, I took him back into the lounge and put him next to me so I could keep an eye on him. When I turned the lights off for the night he started climbing to the top of the cage and was hanging there on the side. I had to put a perch up the top for him to sleep on. Then a bit later I sniffed and heard a thud, looked in his cage and there he was sitting on the floor. I thought he had died when I heard him fall but he soon started to scramble back up to the top again. So he's feeling better but he just has no balance any more.
