i was looking for some other seeds whit more protein, to mix whit millet . like Flax seed but is it bad for their liver ? also my 2 budgies getting close to each other but she won't let the new one touch her but she let me kiss her face !! and we do huge kisses on the cheek in middle east and he really wants to preen her and touch her beak . what can i do ?

Nothing. They will either get there on their own initiative, or they won't. You can't force the issue, I am afraid. And sometimes it can take years before she will accept his touch, if at all. Why do you need more protein for them? Eggs, hard boiled, are good for this, or commercial eggfood, but you are better off limiting the amount of oil seeds in their diet, and oats, as you are correct - they are bad for their liver. Budgies are very prone to what they call fatty liver disease. Oil seeds such as flax, linseed, sunflower seeds etc should only make up about 5% of the seed content of their diet.

They can be friends, but what Hezz is saying is that the female will choose if she wants to mate or not, it wont necessarily happen.

She will also decide when and if she allows the male to preen her, or feed her. One of my hens was 4 years old before anyone was allowed to preen her, and then only at certain times.

This will help with night frights, yes. Usually they do this when they are young, but generally settle down as they mature. Just enough light for them to be able to see how to get back onto the perch is all they need.

The light may have been too bright for them. Can you change the bulb for a lower wattage? All they need is enough light to be able to get back to a perch to roost. Getting two at the same time does leave you open to rejection, I am afraid. Instead, why don't you simply enjoy being an observer and enjoy the way they interact with each other? It can be just as rewarding.

Time will, and you making the effort to continue to interact with them still. It may take seemingly ages, but if you continue with your efforts, they will warm to you and not be scared. Just take it slowly, slowly.
