Oh dear, I feel for you both. Poor little petal, she definitely doesn't deserve any of this. I do hope you and your vet are able to work out a regime to manage this for her, without having to go the surgery route. What a trauma for you.

Poor little Coconut. I hope your routine of spraying and steam help her breathing. An operation would be so scary for her. Hugs to you both.

I have had a couple of birds who have had anaesthetic and for both the outcome was successful.
Thinking of you and Coconut wishing I could make things better for you both.

I see, so it's like nasal polyps in a human? It sounds like it, doesn't it? I too have been down the anaesthetic route on a number of occasions with my budgies, with no problems, but not for anything as invasive as Coconut's problems.

Poor Coconut. I do hope regular monitoring and steams help her avoid the surgery route for as long as possible. Xxxxx

A wee update on my girl, her cere is looking better than it has in months The steam and daily sprays are working a treat. Here's hoping it continues. Thank you all for Coconuts well wishes. I know lots of people have had successful outcomes with anaesthetic but my vet was more worried about the time after she got knocked out and getting the tube down successfully. Due to her breathing problems it would be risky. I will post a photo tomorrow to show the improvement, the lumps are still there but she has clear and visible nares now, very small but visible.

I do hope this is all that she needs, lemonade. At least she is young and strong; hopefully with the continued treatment she will be able to overcome it completely.
