Could it be the wound is itching. I know when a cut itches like mad sometimes when it is healing.

Even just a scab can be very itchy. How many scabs have been scratched off because of scratching fingers? PS I call Mango Missy Moo, as well. Or Little Missy Mango. Misty used to get Misty Moo, before HE showed his true coloured by seducing my innocent little girl.

Yes I'm sure it must be itchy Hezz and @olpecker. She has been good the last day or so, here is a pic showing her very dirty (with dried blood) wing.

As long as it is getting better, that is the main thing. So hard with the animals, those who wish to keep themselves clean and beautiful .......

Missy is off to the vet this morning for her check up on her poorly wing. Another 50 mile round trip!! She did have a go at it about a week ago as when I uncovered them all there was a pool of blood on the floor!! And I mean a pool!! It was still wet so presumably she did it in the early hours of the morning. Everything has been fine since and she does preen round it. I haven't picked her up recently so as not to keep stressing her out, I wanted to leave it til today, before the vet visit. I shall also weigh her then.

It has to be good that she hasn't nibbled at the wound. Good luck at the vets.

She has nibbled at it OP, in previous posts! And of course she had to have a nibble at it this morning before we went to make it bleed!!! The vet took the last stitch out (they were soluble, but one was left) and he showed me the scab and I was shocked it's about 1" long!!! I didn't examine it before as I felt it best left alone until the vet checked it. He made it bleed again by taking the stitch out, but slowed it down a bit. Anyway, he said to keep an eye on it and take her back in two weeks if I am worried about her. I think she will be ok, well fingers crossed! She was very happy to get back home and started shrieking at the others when she heard them as she came in the front door. Hopefully, that will be the end of this scenario!
