Brilliant that all the shoots have appeared within the 8 day period. It must be a tad warmer down there for the shoots to come up in less than 8 days. Well done all.

BRILLIANT! My partner is getting a bit peeved that I keep mentioning it all the time! LOL! Tell him you will share when the time is right. I bet that will shut him up! Go on then, deprive the poor starving budgies of their food ..... don't feel bad, no, not a bit. Here, have some dirt to go with your sprouts, OH.

Shirls it's quite satisfying growing the millet grass, even if the buds wont eat it

They will probably surprise you and have you wondering why you didn't do it earlier, or if not, then surely the girlies would help you out?? I flunked my last lot of sprouts. This lot of seeds are very small; I think they might have been soaked for too long. OH, who is at home now, is supposed to be rinsing them .............. guess what hadn't been happening?

When I grew mine in the small pots and harvested the grass the buds were not very keen. There was only Joey and Whiskers then. But when I grew some in the large trough like tub the boys went for it without me harvesting any. They seemed to like it fresh. I never washed or rinsed any of the seeds as they were what fell off some shop bought millet. That was always clean as the stall holder packed his own. I never had any millet fail. I was surprised how easy it was to grow. I must say it took a while and lots of sunshine to get to the millet heads stage. That went in a breath when the buds saw it.
