We picked up the last two additions yesterday. Meet Louie and Luca... Otis, Ivo and Henry have settled in beautifully and eat anything they’ve been offered, which is great. They’re incredibly chatty and enjoyed a bath yesterday too. Otis is definitely the boss but he and Ivo like to spend time grooming one another and ‘kissing’. Ivo is very forthcoming with his kisses for Henry too. So I’m starting quarantine from today, even though I got the others at the weekend. My plan will be to bring both cages into the same room as Jasper for a day once quarantine ends and then start introductions. Hopefully all will be straightforward...

Louie is very cute and Luca (the white headed one?) looks very dignified and handsome. What a great flock you have! Anxiously awaiting news of how the introductions go.

Thanks tweetiepiesmom Louie is the white face, Luca the yellow. Sorry, I should have stated that. They’re eating, chatting and settling in beautifully. The fun will begin next month...

Louie is a gorgeous violet! And I just love yellowfaces. I think Luca’s yellow face (and body color) should brighten up with his first molt. Both are lovely! yellowfacedviolet - Is he a double factor?

Thanks everyone. I really like yellowfaces too. I’m so thrilled to have a stunning collection of colours. I can’t wait to see all of them after their first moult.

Both are lovely! yellowfacedviolet - Is he a double factor? The paleness of the yellow, even at this age, suggests Type 1. And it would be single factor. If it were double factor Type 1, the face would be white. I imagine there will be more spread of the yellow, and deepening of tone, after the first molt.
Both are lovely.

Oh sorry, I was not being linear. I was actually wondering about the violet - Louie. Is he a double factor violet?

Oh sorry, I was not being linear. I was actually wondering about the violet - Louie. Is he a double factor violet? Tough to say given the age and the diluting effect of opaline. It is indeed a strong hue given those two factors, so I'd guess yes, opaline double factor violet cobalt.

Really well thanks Marianne MarlowThey’re chattering away a lot and call out to the others. I’d love to know what they’re saying as they respond to one another. I’m very much looking forward to getting all the cages in one room and letting them have a good look and get first impressions of one another. Not that I’m counting but 3 weeks and 4 days to go. :-)

Is there a particular relevance to Louie being a double factor violet other than being such a beautiful colour?
