It's nice to see John looking well. I'm sure he will soon put weight on again now he is feeling better.

I think he looks pretty good in the photos, handsome too, of course. . Obviously you can’t see that he is thin under his beautiful feathers . Poor boy with all that food. He probably feels like a little kid at a smorgasbord - doesn’t know where to start.

I tried John back in the aviary last night, when they all came in to sleep, it's nice and warm with a radiator and I thought he seemed well enough. I tried, but he was just wobbly. So he's come back inside. He's finished his baytril. I have some left but the course was for 7 days.
I am going to move him out the little cage to the big cage i had for Mabel, see if he can build his strength up flying about it in.

Good idea to bring him in and put him in a bigger cage (with padded floors I assume).
I'm sure he needs a bit of rehabilitation.

Hope John slowly builds himself back up again, clt80. I remember what a gradual process it was for George after his stroke Marianne Marlow, but he soon got the hang of it and pleasantly surprised us. Really hope John follows suit. We’re all rooting for him!

He is flying about and making a roaring racket of a noise, but his bottom isnt right, his droppings are still off so I think once they are more normal he can go back with his mates he's enjoying all the millet at the moment though, and he needs to build his strength too

Very good news, re the racket, now he just needs to clean up his nether region. Well done, John, keep getting better.

Well...
..he went out for a few days last week but isn't right so he's back inside. He's perking up, singing lots when adverts come on TV and still doesn't like his bottom being cleaned....! Hoping his dropping get a bit better, they are much better than they were and he has a lot more energy. I'm sure he's had a tummy upset as well as some sort of stroke.

It all sounds like a bit of a rollercoaster. John must be made of strong stuff & hopefully all he needs is time (& millet, lots of millet obviously…) 🙏🏻

Glad to hear John’s droppings are better and he has more energy. He must be wanting to be indoors so he can sing along to the Christmas ads. At least he’s making progress.

I don't blame him for wanting to be inside watching the tv at this time of year!
