Once you sign-in and look for the new posts, you have to go to this page by clicking at [New Topics]. budgerigarsforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=newestthreadsThis page has only 30 entries. So if you sign-in after a while, you lose quite a few new posts. Is there any way to increase the number of entries or have multiple pages of 30 entries each?

I agree it would be useful. If anyone can find some code for me to experiment with that makes this happen then I will. I had a search and found zilch.

It's a major fault with the board.
If, like me, you are not from the Northern Hemisphere, by the time I check recent posts, there are way too many of them to fit in the "new posts' sections. So I just miss out on a whole pile.
Sorry if I sometimes don't reply to things. It's just that I don't see them if they are buried past that single page.

I've noticed this as well It isnt clear what programming language the forum is written in (cgi is lots, though mainly perl) but I think its unlikely we can actually edit any of it (or people could do stuff like remove the ads). In the likely situation we cant, I'd suggest emailing the owners/admins

You would think it would be a simple thing to do, given the board allows for threads or forum sections to run through many pages.
I did a quick search on the Proboards help forums, and I did see this same question asked, and the answer was NO - not possible.
Still can't see why that would be. But I don't know how to program myself.

Wow, I have never bothered! I just go into the sections where it flags up new and viola! There they all are!

Wow, I have never bothered! I just go into the sections where it flags up new and viola! There they all are! On that new section, Hezz, it only shows one page worth of new posts. If there are any more than that, you never get to see them.

Sorry if I sometimes don't reply to things. It's just that I don't see them if they are buried past that single page. I feel the same that I may miss a reply to someones question and he/she may feel that I ignored the question or the person.

I guess it's more an issue for us, on time zones other than UK, as the posts mount up past 30 items while we're sleeping.

In the likely situation we cant, I'd suggest emailing the owners/admins Even I can't figure out which language they are using. Anyhow most use ASP.NET from Microsoft, but whatever it is, it will be very easy for them to change the number of the pages from 1 to 10. Something like {&page=10} or {&entries=100} Here is a comparison en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_Internet_forum_software_(ASP)By the way, names like dnfBB, Ideal BB or Ideal BB.NET are not from me . ;D
