If it’s already measured then soaking the millet will be fine. I’m sorry he’s still unwell. Hopefully he get antibiotics in him which will be good.
It’s so hard when they’re ill but you’re doing everything possible.

I have just noticed that his vent looks a bit dirty so he must have some diarera . Also….I have put water pots with the antibiotics in several places around his cage…..and this I find odd, he is eating a LOT and fast. First he went to his dried fresh egg food, then his TiopTop seed and then had a go at some millet. Then he wanted to sit with me again……What is going on? And can I just say thank you everyone for helping me xx. He is still very puffed up..

He definitely has green loose diarera now and can’t seem to stop eating…..surely he can’t go on like this? I can’t take his food away can I. It will be his bedtime soon and to be honest I will glad. 😥😥

Green droppings can mean they aren't eating enough. Maybe he's hungry.
Is he actually dehusking and swallowing seeds?
Sometimes they can make it look like they are eating, when they aren't.

I think it is best to let him eat as much as he wants. He'll stop when he's had "enough". The green loose diarrheas could be from the antibiotics, the extra water and/or the foods he's eating. Sometimes its a good sign - nasties being cleared out of his system. Keep an eye on him but maybe this is a sign that he's recovering. Maybe others have more/better insights?

Oh I do hope it’s a good sigh 🤞🏻. I am pretty sure he is dehusking his seed, difficult to tell with the Tip Top , but definitely can see with the millet and tonic seed. He is eating as though I am going to take it off him. He has water near where he perches for the night, and earlier I did see him go down to the bottom the cage and snatch a quick drink…I have divided the antibiotics in all his water. He is still eating his Tip Top right now…… I will pop a hot water bottle on top of his cage when I go to bed…I can do no more, I feel exhausted……… I think the breeder upset me , he told me Charlie’s brother had died this week ( same age) …He had been used to breed and it did shorten their lives a bit….3 though 🥲🥲

I wonder what is going on, that he is eating so much, but at least he is having the odd drink. That was a bit tactless of the breeder imo given you were worried about Charlie.. try not to think about it, as you say he had been used to breed.. so all sorts of things could have been wrong

So sorry about Charlie's brother. I can see where that would be upsetting news. Hopefully Charlie's on the mend and will be more like himself in the morning.

He has gone to bed….he was still eating! I offered him a drink and he had a good drink, so at least I know he has had the antibiotics before bed. I will pop hot water bottom on top of cage before I go to bed and hope for the best 🤞🏻 Thank you for all your help x

Now that he is eating, and you are sure that he is actually swallowing, not just dropping the seeds, you should see some improvement in his poops. Is he normally a regurgitater? This can sometimes cause a bird to become run down from over doing it, or have gut problems from re-eating what they have regurgitated. How long is he to have AB’s for?
Lots of gut problems can be avoided by adding a couple of drops of apple cider vinegar to the drinking water each day or every other day.

Charlie is still with us, I half expected the worse over night… He is still fluffed up and not making a sound and still eating a lot. Hezz I don’t think I have ever seen him regurgitate. I can’t tell if he is swallowing or not but can hear him cracking the seed. I am still really worried about him and can’t think of anything else I can do to help him. I offered him a drink and he had a sip….if you think there is anything else I could do please say….

Hezz wont be on-line until late tonight, probably.
In the meantime, I think you are doing all you can by getting fluids, vitamins and hopefully antibiotics into Charlie. It really is a case of doing what you can, as you have done, and hoping that your budgie can pull through.
