Thank you lozenge…I personally don’t think what I saw was just normal it was very vigorous. The vet still hasn’t phoned yet. Unfortunately even if he does he is not allowed to prescribe anything to help Charlie. I have just put a hot water bottle on his cage, it is such a helpless feeling 😥

I know that helpless feeling, Ladybird.
Just know that you are doing all you can for Charlie. You're not helpless, you're acting on his behalf.

I'm very sorry to see that Charlie is fluffed up and quiet.
How are his droppings looking?

The vet phoned me and I described everything. He isn’t an Avian vet but nevertheless was very helpful. Of course he said without actually seeing Charlie it was difficult , and also the only way was to get blood tests. He agreed that it was risky even to do that. He has perscribed some antibiotics and we went down and collected them. I said trying to catch Charlie especially now would stress both him and me out…and he said it could give him a heart attack….so I have to put it in his water……but of course I can’t force him to drink. I have just offered it to him and he usually will take a sip but not today. He has just had a bobble of millet and gone back to sleep……Things don’t look good to me, but what else could I have done 😥😥

You are doing the absolute best you can for Charlie.
All you can do is try hard. Beyond that it's up to the Universe to decide. No one can tell you that you aren't doing your best for you little friend and all that can be done.

I am so sorry to hear Charlie is unwell. It sounds like you have done everything you can. I'd keep offering the water as he may well have a sip later if it's there right infront of him. Other than that, keep him nice and warm, which you sound like you are doing already.
Get well soon little one!

make sure the water bowl is really close to him and easy to drink from, so that he doesn't have to make much effort to take a sip. I don't know what your set up looks like.
It's really difficult, I know you don't want to stress him further.
Do his droppings look okay?

When I needed to give Tweetie Pie meds and he wouldn't take it, my vet told me it was ok to put a drop on millet and feed him that. Of course the little guy only took it once and then ate the millet that didn't have the meds on it. Does Charlies eat greens? I'm wondering if there are foods other than seeds that might be more digestible?

Would he take a sip if you held a spoon out to him?
Might be crop issue if he was trying to be sick. Hopefully he’ll take some water with the meds in.

He had a little sip before, and he just wants to sit on my shoulder, but doesn’t move at all or make a sound…..I think he is getting worse….. He has eaten some millet….should I just be letting him have what he wants?

Awww, sweet little Charlie! Yes, since he's not eating much of anything else, I'd give him as much millet as he wants. I wonder if you soaked it, would he eat it? It might be a way to get some moisture in him.

I didn’t think of that…..what about soaking it in his water with the antibiotics in it, or could he get too much?…..I am getting so upset because he would stay on my shoulder and get as near to me as possible and just stay there…I am afraid that he might pass away on my shoulder 🥲🥲

I don't think he would get too much by you doing that and it's worth a try. As tweetiepiesmom said, let him eat what he wants. Poor little boy

At least he will stay warm by being on your shoulder.

I cannot think of a reason not to dose the millet with the anti-biotic. It's what I would do in your position.
I'm so sorry Charlie is so ill. I hope he can find a way to recover. My thoughts are with you both.
