How is Chocobo doing? Hopefully not egg laying again? I remember you mentioning before that when she starts to pay you a lot of attention it could be a sign. Chocobo's weight is currently constant. I'd have expected it to be on the rise by now. She may be becoming friendlier because I often hand her treats now. She may be thinking that we're engaged!

My sunshine girl has a mean streak, confirmed. She was just now mooching in the Forage Gym next to the weighstation. She'd bee ignoring the millet. Finrod hopped onto the scales (good boy) so Chocobo decided she needed to be on that particular set. Finrod hopped over to the other set and Chocobo decided she needed to be there instead. Poor Finrod. I scooted Chocobo away, as I do when she is badly behaved and Finrod is now enjoying his treat in peace. I don't know what Finrod has done to deserve being singled out by Chocobo. Perhaps it's simply that he never stands up for himself where Chocobo is concerned.

Blimey Chocobo! That is being naughty! She gets bored sometimes and chasing budgies is fun. For Chocobo. Finrod & Hector are her main targets, I watch very closely if Hector is in the frame. I won't tolerate it!

Mine mine mine says chocobo! Naughty yellow birdy. A minute ago she was pestering Boba & Smudge. The sisters been playing together on one of the swings when Chocobo moved in on them and started playing the "No you're in the way, I want to go *there*, you're in the way again, I want to go there now ..." game. Fortunately Eeyore stepped in and Chocobo decided she wanted to be somewhere else all together. Good boy, Eeyore.

I've been forgiven this morning, with the help of nutriberry and millet bribes. Chocobo sat on the edge of the Forage Gym, munching millet in her hand and gazing at me lovingly. Wait. Forgiven for what? Bedtime last night appeared uneventful with eight budgies in each cage, all good. But hang on - where is Chocobo? She wasn't in a cage. I launched a search for her which didn't turn her up and I concluded she was hidden behind a picture frame on the bookcase. Time to cover up the budgies. When I got the Nighttime cage, I had to roll done the cover at the side, it was still piled up on top of the cage after I'd installed the Blink camera. Unrolling the cover, out tumbled Chocobo and she landed on the floor. I'd never even seen her. She sat on the floor in a bit of a daze. You need to understand, Chocobo isn't like a budgie. When she goes to sleep, she sleeps quite deeply and it takes a lot to wake her up. She isn't like a budgie who is half-awake all the time. Anyway, she then few up onto the top of the Daytime cage and sat there looking at me for a bit. She tried to go into the Nighttime cage which was still uncovered but locked-up. She then flew off behind a picture frame on one of the bookcases, where she spent the night. I went to bed feeling awful, very guilty. It was all forgotten this morning, by Chocobo anyway but I'm reflecting that you really cannot do anything on auto-pilot in this house, you really can't.

I had a terrible start to the morning, yesterday. I wondered downstairs to check on everyone before letting them out. No sign of Chocobo though, who had again spent the night on the bookcase. I searched the whole of the downstairs for her, even the old hidey-holes she had used before I blocked them off. I had a horrible, sinking feeling.
In desperation I went back upstairs and opened up my bedroom and heard Chocobo's Good Morning greeting - she was on the curtain rail. How had she gotten there? Had she been there when I opened the curtains? How had she not complained if she had been? I was just grateful she was safe.
She spent last night in her usual spot in the Nighttime cage. I wish she would compromise and use the Daytime cage overnight - it's usually slightly less budgie-busy.

How worrying, sounds like she was hiding from you. Glad you found her. I find I am always listening for movement if I can. It's sometimes more reliable than my sight - especially in the case of Boba, whose stiff flight feathers make her the noisiest flier I have (even noisier than Mr Hibs, my previous Noisy Flier Champion). Chocobo, by comparison, is almost silent! I try to encourage a quiet cage at bedtime to encourage Chocobo to spent the night where I am happiest but the budgies often upset my preparations. Chocobo always retires for the night earlier than the buds, which means she often gets disturbed. "Get Chocobo her own cage!", you might say. Well, history shows that doesn't work - they all want to spent the night together or at least try to.
