Oh, all of us has that as a worst fear - that our birds will get in trouble while we are unaware of it! So glad she wasn't harmed and back to being herself. Hoping her egg laying is done.

Thanks, TPM. She's hiding in the CD bookcase now. She cannot nest there or tear anything up - dare I believe she can't get into any bother there? She's shown no interest in being under the cages, at least!
😁 Herman just attempted to join Chocobo amongst the CDs but he hasn't got the requisite flight/landing skills at this point. He does love Chocobo so much.

Oh no!
I feared the worst when I just read this. I am so glad that she's okay.
My Lucy got her foot caught in one of my curtains once when she went inside to try and find a nest and luckily I was able to get the scissors and snip her free, but boy did she bite me!
Chocobo, stop worrying us like this and getting into trouble!!

I'm guilty of complacency I'm afraid. Just because one of my hens hasn't tried to self-destruct in the past 48 hours I get to thinking that maybe they are keeping themselves safe now. With Chocobo and Squeak, you can never make that assumption.

Update: The flock has gone to bed. They swapped around from one cage to the other for a bit but they are all now in the one cage. Chocobo hasn't been as aggressive with Squeak and Squeak has been less tense around her. I could tell that come bedtime, Chocobo did not want to be alone. She's sought out the company of budgies until they all settled! I hope they stay quiet, I really could use a peaceful evening.

What a fright for both of you. I'm glad Chocobo is ok. I hope you all have a peaceful night.

How is Chocobo today?
Hopefully Squeak and Chocobo remained friends last night and didn't start any squabbles.

Chocobo is very lovely today, thank you for asking. She's been very sweet and attentive and quite friendly towards the budgies. She does still scoot the buds out of the way but she currently does not pick out Squeak for special attention and she doesn't chase after her at the moment thankfully. Chocobo tried a very quick bath this morning but I got the impression she didn't want to get herself completely soaked - flying isn't that easy when you've doubled your weight with sodden feathers! I think she's still getting her strength back. (Postimage isn't working for me right now, I will post pics in my Flock thread when I can)

What a fright for both of you. I'm glad Chocobo is ok. I hope you all have a peaceful night. We did indeed have a peaceful night, thank you criswell! I believe the whole flock was tired out from all the activities of the day (the buds took to the air whenever Chocobo did when she was trying to escape capture!).

Argh! I've just been chatting to Chocobo. I think she's ok now. She started screaming from the CD bookcase and I turned around to look but she was alone. I thought she'd been attacked! She flew out and landed on the TV shelf and stayed there a good ten minutes. She was using her left leg only, her right was tucked up tight to her body and I could see her twitching, as if the leg was paining her a great deal. After a while she showed me her right foot - I couldn't see anything obviously wrong. After ten minutes she flew back to the bookcase and then her cage and she seems fine. She is really trying hard to stress me out!

I wonder if she may have bruised her leg or strained it slightly with the carpet ordeal? If so, she should heal up in a couple of days.

Oh Chocobo, what are you doing to your dad? I must say I was worried reading about her being stuck. What a shock and a worry. Hopefully there’s still no sign of injury to her leg and she’s just trying to win an Oscar.

Oh no, poor Chocobo! Hopefully it's just a bit bruised and she was just in need of a bit of attention.

Chocobo has been absolutely fine now. I've no idea what she did in the CD bookcase. She's frequented it since forever, it's not like it was unfamiliar territory. I believe she just wants my hair to go grey or white.
