I admire you Marianne Marlow. I know you really have no choice but to have it done but that doesn’t mean you aren’t nervous and so I hope everything runs to time and goes smoothly. You’re very brave as is anyone going through any medical procedures. I know of people who’ve had ablations for lung tumours and I think it’s a really clever procedure.

Music is a good idea, I'll have to see what is possible.
Ermm. Brave? nope! I'm really scared! Apparently in the US they are not awake for this, they have a general!

Music is a good idea, I'll have to see what is possible. Ermm. Brave? nope! I'm really scared! Apparently in the US they are not awake for this, they have a general! You’re still going and having it. Doesn’t matter how scared you are, you’re turning up and doing what needs to be done. Believe me, I’ve known people not attend for far less than this! So you are brave! I had to have a procedure last summer and thankfully it was successful but I opted not to have a GA and it was actually much quicker and less painful than I had expected, but the care and support from the medical team went a long way to keep me reassured. I was apprehensive but I’m very much a “let’s get this done then” type of person. It helped that I’d done my research and knew what to expect but it’s still daunting nevertheless. I concentrated on my breathing and there were pictures to look at on the ceiling but I was talked to throughout and I think that helped enormously. You’ll be absolutely fine. I hope this time the sedation will let you drift off too so you’re less aware.

Thanks all. Hoping it goes well too.
Eve gave me her 3rd favourite Spider-man to take to hospital with me. So I'll be plenty safe I'm sure.

Good luck 🤞 M. With Spider-Man looking over you, everything should be supernaturally perfect, although only third favourite?? Eve really is hedging her bets.

Hi all. I had my procedure at about 12pm and it took 2 hours. Because they went in through a big vein in the groin - I had to lay flat for 3 and a half hours before I was allowed to sit and eventually stand. I am told that it was a success, but in 3% of cases, people may have to come back for another one. I told them that there is no way I am coming back, it was not a pleasant experience. They told me I had - AV nodal reentrant tachycardia ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AV_nodal_reentrant_tachycardia) I was meant to have Hospital transport home, but was not ready in time so they called me a cab for 6.30, but that did not arrive until 8pm. I arrived home at 9pm and after Eve was in bed, Paul helped me put the budgies to bed. Am a bit tired but that's to be expected.

Welcome home, Marianne. What a relief to get that behind you! Hopefully you've been put on light chores for the next few days while you rest up. Well done for toughing this out.

Thanks loz Yes, I am not meant to lift anything heavy for 3 days. I have not had any fluttery feelings in my chest today, so that is good. Normally I am aware of my heart beat all the time.

Well done, Marianne! You got through it! Take care of yourself, we'll all be mentally prodding Paul to wait on you hand and foot. I wish you a speedy recovery!
