I actually feel pretty fine at the moment, just a little tired. Low points for me yesterday were: Shaking with anxiety laying on the table waiting for the procedure to start. The pain of the sharp pointy thing going in. With tears running down my face. Feeling my heart being ablated, it was intense for about 3 seconds. It felt like my heart being poked with a sharp pointy thing. I really don't think the waking sedation OR the local anaesthetic that they injected the local area with work on me cos I felt everything. I was told there would be no pain and I would just feel a tugging sensation. Well done, Marianne! You got through it! Take care of yourself, we'll all be mentally prodding Paul to wait on you hand and foot. I wish you a speedy recovery!

Marianne Marlow Are you naturally ginger? (Sounds weird, but it does seem to be a genuine difficulty)

No. But red hair is in my family on my dad's side (Irish) and Eve has red hair. Marianne Marlow Are you naturally ginger? (Sounds weird, but it does seem to be a genuine difficulty)

My housemate has red hair and certain anaesthetics don't work on her.
I'm not sure about my family, although I don't believe there's been a red-head for a few generations, but topical anaesthetic doesn't work on me.
Certain genetic factors seem to affect how well some medications work.

Interesting. I did read about that.
Eve has just been diagnosed with hypermobility. I think I may have that too and I noticed that one of the symptoms is "Poor response to anaesthetic or pain medication"

Glad you made it through ok but sorry you felt what they were doing. Also sorry about the wait for the cab to pick you up. I know once you're ready to go home, you want to go! Tomorrow (Sunday) is Mother's Day in the US. Perhaps Paul will put Eve in your lap to get and give big hugs. Hope the budgies all give you loving looks.

The orthopaedic surgeon said I have a bit of that, although not to any extreme degree. Not like my friend. He can do some very odd things with a couple of his joints.

I’m so relieved it all went to plan and you’ve got it over with Marianne Marlow. Sorry it wasn’t a nice experience but I’m hoping you won’t require the procedure again.
