Just wanted to rant really.. anyone else feel free to do so too!
I had an ear infection on 27th January (middle ear apparently) and I have been deaf in my left ear ever since.
Now I can only hear white noise in my left ear, it's driving me insane. Also I have had a headache for 2 weeks.
I have had 7 days antibiotics, oral and in ear.
I even went to a&e monday, after 9 hours was told I just have some water behind my ear and it may take another 3 weeks to resolve. They didn't give me any scans, just blood tests and looked in my ear.
I had to tell someone as I really feel like I am going mad.
Rant over.

I'm sorry, Marianne. Those symptoms are very maddening indeed and it's impossible to switch them off. I hope you get some relief soon <3
Nine hours in A&E! A disgrace.

I got to a&e around 11am, was eventually assessed then they sent me to the urgent treatment centre who sent me to the hub who then sent me back to a&e. a&e then passed me through to the same day urgent care centre where I waited until 8pm. I would have thought losing your hearing was serious and I had already spoken to 111 and seen my gp twice. But I was made to feel like I was wasting everyones time. I'm sorry, Marianne. Those symptoms are very maddening indeed and it's impossible to switch them off. I hope you get some relief soon <3 Nine hours in A&E! A disgrace.

I've generally had good or at least adequate interactions with my local hospital(s). I fully understand that I am lucky in this as the horror stories I've heard from friends & acquaintances are deeply concerning. Postcode lottery indeed.

That’s horrible and really poor treatment. Sadly my local hospital the same or worse
I hope your hearing starts to improve, the water should start to disperse soon, hopefully
Try rubbing gently your neck, under that ear
White noise, it’s horrible - had it about 10 years now.

I am sorry to hear that, Marianne. I've been in a similar situation with a different issue...feeling as if something must be wrong, but the medical professionals made me feel like I wasted everyone's time.
And yet, so many of us are told to have any little complaint checked by a doctor because it could be something serious.

It’s dreadful isn’t it, I hope something gets resolved for you soon M.
My family have had 4 trips to A&E since the start of December, 4 8-12-16 hr waits. The 4hr was for a dislocated shoulder which should be sorted in a short time frame. It’s a worry with the mess the NHS is in 😔

I hope your ear problem resolves itself soon. It's frustrating that no one is helping you with it. I would have thought there was something they could do to help remove the water.

I know exactly how you feel Maranne and can sympathise.
I took a really bad cold/flu last May, it completely floored me, to make matters worse I also took an ear infection, which my Doctor said she was concerned about and would send a letter away for me to go to ENT clinic.
The appointment came in just 2 weeks ago for the end of this month, so a 9 month wait 😡🤬
I really hope you get your problem sorted, sometimes a good rant makes us feel better.

Waiting lists are long.
A&E waits are long.
Beds are all full, or unavailable because there aren't enough nurses to safely care for them all.

Thanks ffiscoolWhy do you have white noise? did you also have an ear infection. 10 years is a very long time, that is awful - is it permanent? I'm so scared that my hearing is gone in that ear now. I keep crying That’s horrible and really poor treatment. Sadly my local hospital the same or worse I hope your hearing starts to improve, the water should start to disperse soon, hopefully Try rubbing gently your neck, under that ear White noise, it’s horrible - had it about 10 years now.

9 months? I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm also awaiting a referral to ENT. I have had sinus infections, tonsilitis, a migraine where I was vomiting and a chest infection since Sept. Been ill continuously. I know exactly how you feel Maranne and can sympathise. I'm so sorry to hear that. It's so stressful isn't it. Eve has had a lot of a&e visits too, we've had an awful time of it. She spent the whole Christmas holidays with diarrhoea and has had several resp infections. It’s dreadful isn’t it, I hope something gets resolved for you soon M. Marianne, have you ever heard of "Raw Juicing"?
I did raw juicing about 10 years ago, I bought books mostly by Jason Vale, read up on the health benefits and went out and bought a juicing machine.
I can honestly say I had never felt better, no aches, pains, headaches, I had far more energy, and lost over a stone in weight without even trying.
I am about to embark on another Juice Feasting journey starting early next month, I am tired of conventional medicine, and doctors continually supplying pills which don't help, or don't get to the root cause of the problem.
I know my job (Postwoman) has a lot to do with the problems I suffer today, which are sore and stiff joints, the pain from these really get me down some days.
I watched a documentary the other day which Jason Vale made a few years ago, which I watched before my first juice journey.
I'll post the link for it on here if that's OK. You should watch it, the results are astonishing.
