At some point the budgies seemed to run out of steam a little. That was nice. 1drv.ms/v/s!AnyoyWilEZ_Xh_sfcWUzamk0ZkcMHw?e=gl5VTkAnd then, all too soon, the calm patch was over! 1drv.ms/v/s!AnyoyWilEZ_Xh_seJB4zQ1NgrtgCUg?e=AOy90TIsabeau had a look at the floor and asked the same question we were all asking - "Will Daddeh be running the vacuum cleaner around this year or nah?" By late afternoon, I was getting a bit hungry and thirsty but of course, Daddeh wouldn't know that. Then he offered me a millet-bribe-taxi-ride to my cage. "You must be tired by now, Coco, maybe you'd like to go to bed?". I accepted the ride of course and when back in my apartment, I demolished the food in my bowl and drank some water. Thus refreshed, I wandered back out of my cage and sat on the sky snake. Daddeh tried to give me another ride to my apartment a bit later - some of the budgies had gone to bed - but I told him to get lost. I ended up spending the night up there, that was fun. This morning, Daddeh went off to sort out the food bowls for the budgies. While he was away, I snuck into my apartment for more food and water. He had such a look of surprise on his face when he returned hahahaha That's it for the time being. If anything noteworthy actually happens in my life here (yeah, likely), I will of course update for anyone still following my little diary blog thread. Bye for now!

Oh wow Coco, do you think the budgies are scared of you?? Auntie Maz, the budgies have an entirely understandable respect and sense of awe for me. They fly up next to me quite often but if they are too close, they normally hop away on their own accord. Daddeh says this is due to "New Birb Syndrome" and that all new birbs get treated respectfully at first. We shall see! So far I have only had to show my beak to the big girl, Eva. Daddeh says that's because Eva is a bit of a dominant personality who tries to intimidate other birbs. Good luck with that, Eva!

Oldbuddy, I had a lot of fun and so did the Flock. Everyone (except me) went to be early and slept soundly the whole night. I didn't hear a peep from them!

I thought Squeak was eyeballing you at one point too, but I am sure you will not be intimidated.

Wow, Coco. You've settled right in. I knew you'd like meeting the rest of the flock.

"Then he offered me a millet-bribe-taxi-ride to my cage." - Haha! Before our Cockatiels trusted me more, I could take their food bowl to Pepper and he(?) would ride it back to their cage. Kona would usually follow him back in.

Dear Coco,
Have you forgotten us? Since your introduction to 'the flock' we have heard very little from you? If you can spare some time to tell us how you are getting along we would love to hear all about the madness that is 'downstairs'.
Your Sincerely,
A. Fan.

Dear Fans I've had no time for diary entries since being thrown into GenPop. It's hectic here. The budgies are demonstrably crazy and Chocobo the chocobo spends much of the day dodging them and pestering Daddeh for treats. I spend most of my day on the sky snakes where I'm pretty safe from marauding budgies. Because it is exhausting running this large a flock, I find three or four power naps in the day to be essential.
I've had a few break-ins where thieves have entered my apartment and stolen stuff. I don't mind but if I'm in the apartment at the time, it's a little bit irksome. They are a good-natured lot though and I find I can mostly relax in their company.
I like to take a few flights a day, over-flying the facilities in the lounge but I do not make use of those facilities as yet. Maybe when I get time. Daddeh says I'm a fair flier and compliments me on my pauses and changes of direction. He says I need work on my landings, confidence mainly but I don't see him flying around and performing landings. Armchair critics, eh?
I'm becoming resigned to Daddeh locking me in my apartment at night. I don't like it but he seems insistent. I don't complain too much when he covers me over for the night, not anymore (that was a shock, the first few times!) and likewise, when he uncovers me in the morning. This morning I forgot to hiss at him! Whoops!
I think I could have ended up in worse places (a seagull rookery springs to mind - those blasted seagulls!) ... obviously it could have been a lot better, too. Overall, it's OK here. Daddeh caught me "chortling to myself" this morning as I chewed one of the sky snakes. I was actually reciting a list of jobs that needed doing but Daddeh doesn't really speak tiel. He keeps trying though and sometimes his whistling catches me out and I find myself replying to him.
Right, this brand new sky snake won't destroy itself ... until next time, au revoir!

Dear Coco,
So lovely to hear from you! Thanks for taking the time to reply to your fans. I agree with your assessment of Daddeh. Him flying around the room would indeed be a sight to behold. How dare he pass judgement on your considerable skills!
I look forward to hearing more about your new residence. Like you say, it could have been worse.
Yours, devoted,
A. Fan.

I am glad that you are making more progress, however slowly. Slow and steady wins the race. Eight or nine months from now, you might insist on perching on your Daddeh's head whenever possible, as our Cockatiels do.
