Hi Mick, Cheers mate sure have, all be worth it hopefully when i have got the budgies in... Aha yeah was a bit high but oh well had to be done and didn't want to pay hundreds for a professional to do it aha.. I found them looks really good setup and has gave me a few ideas..If you don't mind me asking how much did that cost for the materials?...i have been thinking of having an outside flight but we will see how things go with the shed first... Bit of your advice needed mick, do you think a 51" x 36" flight is big enough or will it need to be bigger? Thanks...Lew no mate i dint mind you asking ...it cost me including buying the shed which was only about £125 ish...all in all... down to the last screw £1400...it surprised me ..the cost ...but i done it as and when i could afford the bits ...i kept all the receipts ...and added them up at the end.. . as for the flight ...the bigger the better ....as much as you can get out of the space you have..... but remember you have to get in the aviary and work ..so a happy medium ....but not so important if you have a outside flight as well...as they go out Summer winter rain or snow...just make sure the aviary is water tight before you insulate .....and board it out ....other wise it with hold water in between .....stink and rot ....plus very un healthy for the budgies... as i said before any thing els just ask if i cant answer some one will....we dont bite ...but some of our budgies do...... ;D... i went all over mine from every direction that i could with a hose pipe....till i was satisfied it was water tight... o i forgot to say put a big door into your flight as you will need to get in to clean it out from time to time ....make it user friendly ...

Thanks BB i have been thinking about a store cabinet for supplements and thinking of putting it on the side wall between the breeding cages and the nappy cages what do you think? You're welcome The place looks fine to me. It will be next to other storage as well. How wide is this place between the breeding cages and the nappy cages?

Did you find any pics of Mick's completed aviary? Mick's set up is great with the two sheds and the flight in between. Painted bright red, it looks so lovely and cheerful down the end of his garden.

hi lew.. as BB asked about my iner flight ... i have added more pics ...on my aviary build for you to look at .... it is the shape it is .....because of the entrance door and cages ... if you look you will see what i mean ..... i didn't have a inside flight sectioned off before i used to let them have all the room inside but they were for ever pooping on the cages.. by the way my nappy cages ...as people are calling them now are the bottom 6 cages...as i never breed moor than 3 pairs at any one time ...so in Hindsight ....i would have only bought 3 cages and the space below ......i would have made a nappy cage like barrie shutt has got..... his is fantastic.... ... plus this brings me to say .....if i was doing mine now i wouldn't use board on top of my insulation... id use the plastic Tongue and Groove... its much much heathery .....and so much easy er to clean...plus you never have to paint it .... . so learn from my mistake ....if i had to do it again that is the way i would go....100%..

That is a lot, i may have to squeeze more money out of the parents aha... I have been considering different options for the aviary last night and today...I will post a picture up of my Back garden as i have a 'ready' Patio that Mom said i could build on the opposite side to the old shed in the pictures previously which would allow me to have a larger aviary, out of question how many budgies would a 4ft3in x 3ft flight hold? Comfortably? Don't want them lil budgies cramped in...
Hi BB, the gap in between the nappy cage and the breeding cages is 31in, what do you think a supplement cabinet would need to be?...
I did find Mick's completed aviary, thank you Stace it does look really good hopefully i will have something similar when i am finished aha...
I just took a look at your new pictures your flight is great and a lovely size, it has gave me some thinking to what i could do with my own shed once its up.... Thank you for that tip Mick i will get looking at some of that, seems like it will do a good Job for me...I'm off out in the garden now, soak up this sun and crack on with clearing the Garden, i will have some more pictures up by tonight of the other patio i mentioned before and maybe today's work...
Thanks Everyone, Lew

Hi BB, the gap in between the nappy cage and the breeding cages is 31in, what do you think a supplement cabinet would need to be?... A supplement cabinet is good to have so one don't have to run back and forth every time something is required in the bird room.

Here is the patio i mentioned in a previous message which mom said i could build on but the foundations aren't steady so cracking on with where i first thought.. Now have cleared all the tree's behind the shed in this picture so nothing will fall on the aviary from above once up.. Cleared all behind the shed and the trees to the right.. More clearing infront of the shed.. Had a little visitor when clearing behind the shed so i picked him up and put him/her in the little barrel, seemed pretty happy swimming in there made sure he could get out safely though... The Mess.. The beginning of the dismantling the shed process.. ... Lot more done tonight but was too dark to take a photo the sheds all but down now just the supports to go, finish them tomorrow... More pics as well... Thank you, Lew

A lot of good progress Lew That patio is a very beautiful place to relax outdoors so I am glad that you have gone with the shed. Let him do the hard work Mick. He won't be able to do so at our age ;D

Surprise or not but the shed has been here ever since my mom and dad moved in over 19 years ago, and all the wood that can be re-used i plan to re-use limiting the waste mick but the panels were rotten to the core as i found out when taking down... Thank you BB it is nice and relaxing sitting area and suitable in this weather... I haven't got through much today as the Pub Garden was to good to resist but I am doing more work as we speak so more pics will be up tonight... I will carry on working don't worry aha... the budgies will be worth it Lew

Back to it today... The so called "footings" of the shed.. Still a lot to do but feel closer to it, would everyone recommend a solid concrete base for the footings of my aviary or another way? All advice welcome.. Lew
