So glad yours are ok ruby5. I will leave the two eggs in their until the end of the week and if nothing i will remove them and let her have another round.out of the six full eggs so far i have one lonely chick.the first one was dead in the shell, the next two werent being fed properly and they died of dehydration, then we have little frank who i took out straight away so i would feed him and hes doing well.todays chick hasnt hatched yet and then theres wednesdays chick(if still alive) to hatch.so now i am hoping for the next clutch of eggs off my pair to be more successful as they might be a bit more experienced. Sue

I hope little frank gets some company soon, glad he's doing well, you must be so attached to him/her hand feeding. The oldest of our chicks is 12 weeks on Wednesday so they were warm weather babies which I'm sure helped, the rest was good advice on here and beginers luck I think. Our hen laid 9 eggs, the first 6 hatched the last 3 didn't. I think they'd been rolled around by the others too much. I had a name waiting for each chick as it hatched, the 7th egg was going to be called Lucky I couldn't throw them away so they are buried in the garden

Aww, that's such a shame Better luck for the next round! I hate fireworks too. I've never been able to stand loud noises and I'm always worried that we're going to get a firework through the letterbox, despite never having heard of it happening around where I live. I checked on Munchy on Saturday night during a particularly close set of bangs but he seemed to be awake/sleeping normally (I can't actually tell because he sleeps with his eyes open). I've known him to have night terrors only one and that might have been caused by something we didn't notice, like the time I accidentally woke him up by brushing his tail with the blanket when covering his cage, which frightened him. I think he is a little used to loud noises, though, as the telly tends to be loud with banging sounds and things get dropped and doors closed loudly. Today he didn't even fly away and stop playing with his ball when my nan was hoovering close to him (she knew he was there, don't worry XD).

Well hes 5grams and three days old.1gram overweight already.he likes his food, bless. Sue

No, you're not dumb Sue, it's me getting old or maybe that should be Billy Bunter was a fictitious 'tubby' schoolboy. I remember him on TV and in comics when I was young, only just though lol.

I just asked my husband as hes in his seventies and i asked him if he knew billy bunter and he said he does ;D he said he wore short trousers and a school cap and was always getting into trouble.he remembers him well,so my husband is the old one ;D frank is 6 grams today and should be 5 grams and feeding every one and a half hours day and night. Hes got a good appetite and a lovely little demading squeek when he wants more. Sue

I'm pleased little frank is doing so well sue, have you any plans for him? I'm a couple of decades younger than your hubby so that's probably why my thoughts about Billy Bunter are a little hazy ;D Back to the dreaded fireworks...we had the loudest ones so far last night continuously banging for at least half an hour, I hope there's no more tonight

We had a few more fireworks last night but in the distance.tonight so far not any ;D i am pleased people have decided they have blown up enough money now. Sue

Our budgies and one cockatiel share the lounge with our African Grey, Charlie. He's not bothered with the other birds unless they're being really noisy but then he shouts at them "will you shut up" lol. At the moment the birds are moulting and I'm fed up cleaning up feathers Outdoor aviarys have a plus side! What sort of parrot have you got Sue?
