Does anyone else other than me find themselves having to do strange things in their homes to accomodate the pets? My bloke has just got in from a hard days work and possibly needs a good long soak in the bath. BUT.........At the moment in my bath is.....a 12 kg sack of dog food, a dogs matteress, a toilet brush, 4 towels, a plastic tub of parrot food, a broom, a mop and bucket..... and all because my 2 rabbits needed to start their bonding today lol :-D

My OH hates having the buds in the house which is why they have to stay in the conservatory during the winter. He cant wait until they go back into the Aviary according to him they are noisy and messy and he cant see the point . Needless to say im keeping them in for as long as i can before the temperatures get too high out there . Like he doesn't make a noise or a mess .

Pete is usually pretty good ....... y'see he has his motorcycles, rather expensive ones, which I tolerate. And I have my budgies, much less expensive, which he tolerates. His take up much needed space outside and make a lot of noise, mine take up much less, not so needed space inside ........ and not quite so noisy, although that could be debated, sometimes. He does get shirty with things like their grass over the kitchen bench, the mess they leave behind (if I don't clean it up pdq) and etc and etc, but often there is something else niggling that is making him short, stress at work for example, not the budgies themselves. Except the poop!

Well, at the moment we are having a new top put on our conservatory. The conservatory is usually home to 2, 5ft vivarium's containing one tortoise in each, and 2, 4ft guinea pig cages containing 1 large male in one and 2 females in the other. Said animal enclosures are now located in our lounge/dinning room. Also in the lounge/dinning room are, one African grey parrot, one pearly conure, one Hahns macaw, one budgie all in individual caages and one 5ft tank containing one bearded dragon, not to mention the dog sitting on the sofa next to me. In all we currently have 11 pets sharing our main living area. The only pets not currently in the lounge are the 3 chickens and the 5 aviary budgies and 2 cockateils. We have had our 3 chickens housed in our conservatory for 3 weeks before now. They were attacked by a fox so I wouldn't leave them outside alone until Hubby had built a run for them. He did, it cost £300 and the vet bill for the injured chicken was £150. My husband is a very tolerant man. Just took a picture of the dinning area. The vivariums are covered on the left to give the tortoises some darkness. The cage in the very front is my conure, Merlins, it's always a mess as he shreds the paper in it as soon as I clean it out. If you look to the very back, you can see my son, buried, on his computer.

Tee hee. It's like those hoarding shows. Except, instead of hoarding rubbish, you're hoarding pets! Is that the hoover at the ready? I think we all know that one.

The hoover is always hanging about somewhere. It does have a place in the under stairs cupboard but it's in constant use so never quite finds it's way back.

My OH always complains that I sort the buds out before him i.e. food, beverages and attention he feels like he has been demoted!

"You talk to the birds more than you talk to me!!" is what I often get. Because they're always pleased to see you, listen to what you say and don't have an opinion!!

samwiseg ...... we are a bit back to front as a couple ....... he wants to discuss EVERYTHING........ I want just the bare bones. So yeah, in my opinion, he is inclined to go on, and on, whereas in his, I don't, and just clam up when things get tetchy. sarah*glittergirl2212 Too true! They don't answer back, don't pick fights, don't argue and basically just go along with what you decide. Too easy.
