well done, I forgot to say its best not to use sandpaper because if they eat it, it can cause a blockage xxx I use newspaper and never had a problem.

Right i have just looked at my bottle and i the smaller one is for measuring as if you squeeze the bigger side the smaller side fills up (if that makes sense) plus it does have a measure amount on the small bottle the instructions of how much you need is on the back though so i just use a small syringe to measure that i picked up from the vets Just ordered from amazon £7.77 plus £2 postage and a spray bottle didn't fancy using a washed out mr muscle in case of contamination thanks for the measuring info saves me getting a syringe x I use a small 500ml spray bottle of water and put about 1ml of F10SC in it. A syringe or a simple dropper helps to measure out that small quantity as the measure on the actual F10 container is too big, even on the smallest bottle.

Hello and welcome, Jayne and Kenny and the rest, to the forum. Kenny certainly is a little cutie, but then they all are at that age. Totally gorgeous. Well done, Gaile.

That works for me. I have that cage and I have put the newspaper on top of the grating. I fold it so it butts up to the food bowls, leaving a gap either side. That way the feathers go under the paper and lessen the flying feathers when they flap. also as they have to go down there to feed it's kinder on their feet, in my opinion, jumping down onto wire can't be comfy. Also, are you going to put water in a bowl until the baby gets used to the bottle? I use a bottle and it didn't take long for my birds to learn how to use it but a baby may not get the hang of it straight away.

I will put water in one of the feeding dishes seed in the other and once he's used to water bottle will use 2nd dish for fresh food but think he will take to it quickly as Gaile uses the water bottles so he might be used to them before he gets home! I'm currently attempting my hand at growing some herb in the windowsill (planted them on Saturday) and also trying to grow some cat grass in a try it's currently in dark environment trying to seed Kenny is gonna eat better than us haha!

oh my what a lovely cage for baby Kenny not long now WAHOO I read somewhere on here about the cuttle bone with the metal holder that you have (i know they come like this) but some ones rusted so surrgested taking the metal off and using one of these instead www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HATCHWELLS-CUTTLEFISH-BONE-HOLDERS-TWINPACK-/260955293663?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Birds&hash=item3cc225c7dfi use these and they are great also for other foods (millet or veg ect) i adore the swing you have, where is it from? I used to use the green cage bottom cardboard thing but found it was a bit of a chore to clean after a while so now use unbleached chip shop paper 9only because i can never find newspapers) on top of the grate like starlingqueen has surrgested,i put 7 sheets down at a time, take the top one of every morning so they have a fresh one each day and maybe every other day i take the paper and grate up and hoover up all the feathers that gather underneath, then once all the sheets of paper have gone at the end of the week i do my big clean of the cage if you do decide to use newspaper or food grade chip shop paper over the grate and you want it to fit the cage properly then just use the green cardboard you already have as a stencil and then the paper will fit perfectly,i also do this,it takes a little time but works well Hope that made a bit of sense and cant wait to see little Kenny in his new lovely home
