Hope the vet check goes well, Moogie. It is always a worry, and can see why you are worried, but can happen that for whatever reason too many flight feathers fall in the one moult, or fall too closely together for the others to have grown in enough. Of course being a bigger bird doesn't help there either. This is the month for a big moult for me anyway (not my own feathers, obviously ) and this makes Meeko 12 months old ....... I wonder if that has anything to do with going through a heavy moult. Mine seem to do it every six months. Good luck and keep us informed on what the vet says, please. I, for one, will be worried.

Thank you Normally he is a superb flyer but it is defently due to the loss of these feathers....He is in fine spirit this morn,jumping around with Elf... I will let you know soon as i am back xxx

My lot are moulting heavily at the moment too.
I do hope it's just that.

Yaay all ok His weight is fine although he said he was a big Budgie (thats why he is known as fatty boom boom) Got some vits to Put in water and for now he cant come out to fly until his feathers have grown back just in case he hurts himself-any way it did not faze him and he is back with Elf yumming up some food... THANK YOU bud gang for yor good wishes and a big PHEW XXX

That's great. I thought it sounded like a feather issue. Funny that this happens to some buds when they moult. I wonder if it's more with those with show-type genes. It wouldn't be a good thing in the wild.
