Yes, put your long puppy face on and cry the poor tale. Tell them how much the fate of the little defenceless budgie means to you.

Hehe, the best the store can do is give me a discount on a new cage.

I do hope so. At least the shop owners got her checked over by the vet. That is a good start. Which country are you, sadbudgie?

Picture update This is what her foot looks like, shes regaining strength in her legs, i've sen her walk around a little instead of scooting. Which is great news, but the foot she had little strength in havent gotten better, its curled up. She uses it to climb, and she can support herself on it when walking a bit.

She is a beautiful baby! Sounds like she is beginning to adapt to her challenges. You are doing a wonderful job with her, Sadbudgie!

Yes I agree she is a lovely looking budgie. I'm sure she will adapt as BB says. They truly are wonderful creatures. We are lucky to have them in our homes and life.

She is a beautiful little thing, I agree with you all.
Are you able to straighten her toes out, at all? If you can and can get her sitting on a perch with her toes in the right position, you may be able to help her feet in this way. She will be using her foot properly and it may strengthen up more and more. If she continues to use it with the toes curled, she may never be able to un-curl them, if this makes any sense. I have had a young budgie who came to me with a curled up claw but it is now fine, and with her being only a baby there is more chance of righting her foot than if she were an older bird.

I have had a young budgie who came to me with a curled up claw but it is now fine, and with her being only a baby there is more chance of righting her foot than if she were an older bird. Her toes wrap normally around her perch, and they're sometimes like in the photo, and sometimes all curled up like a tightened fist. But when she's climbing the bars or sitting on her perch, the feet seem to act "normal", but it's more like a hook than a working leg. But she wraps the foot around the perch. Even if it isnt on purpose.

That is very good!! I can only suggest that if you see her sitting with her toes curled in under her then try to intervene and straighten them out. Hope this all works out for you both.

well, now i apparently own a budgie... getting a cage for "factory price" and discount on some toys. Budgie was deemed not fit for sales, so i got her for free.
Guess i got to name her now..
Finally found her some calcium supplements, hopefully that'll help some.
