Hi I am hunting for a night cover for the Hagen medium single height M01 cage I can't find one on the Hagen UK website only on the Canadian site and ai don't think they will shop to the UK. Can anyone tell me where in the UK I could get one please or send me a link to a stockist? Thank you so much

I made one from some spare curtains. It took me a whole morning to sew into a bag. Cost was the orignal cos to the curtains.

Sorry cant help with a hagen cover. My wallpaper is red and gold in the lounge where the budgies big cage is. I found a lovely red with gold thread duvet cover in a charity shop which has worked very well.

Can I use a cotton sheet then I just wasn't sure how the budgie can breath through it, do you leave a corner turned up for air?

I use a cotton sheet. The air can pass through without a problem - no one has asphyxiated yet and I have been 8 years of using a sheet.

I also use a light cotton sheet. I always leave the bottom half uncovered so the night light is effective for them...

Thank you I will use a light cotton sheet but I hadn't thought about leaving a night light on

If your bud is not frightened without I wouldn't bother. Joey has never had one. He has always been covered over without any problems.

Echo or the aviary birds done get covered and they do fine. Echo goes to bed at 9 pm and the lights in the lounge go off at 10 after the bigger birds go to bed.

When I say 'bedtime' tiggy goes to his roost spot which is the same every time. Ocean goes anywhere and I cover them over. Their cage is near a wall so they just have 3 sides covered. I have done this for over 40 years for my birds but as others say it just depends on you and your birds.

Oops I forgot to point out I was referring to the night light in my last post. I only covered Joey up because I remember my mother always covered hers up. The past few nights I have been in bed for 21:45 tired out with DIY'ing. Of course it is still broad daylight outside and even with a cover over it is still not dark in the cage. However it would soon get dark. Once Joey has decided where to roost that's it while morning.

I do forget to cover them up occasionally, if my routine gets muddled and I may forget, and that has never been a big deal. I do prefer to cover the young ones, as they are inside and the light may be on until 11pm-ish.

I have always covered my indoor buds i think it cuts out the drafts and is cosy for them

I have always covered my indoor buds i think it cuts out the drafts and is cosy for them The big cage gets wheeled outside for the night onto the deck ....... not sure why, that's just the way it has been. Mango and Spyro sleep in a smaller cage inside, more because I remove the seed from the others before I cover them than any other reason ..... I don't think they even touch it 'til morning anyway. If we are going to be away I leave the big cage inside, it's a bit safer. If I have seen any snakes around they stay in as well. My bird keeping acquaintances tell me that the cage is not totally snake-proof and a very small snake may frighten them to death rather than be able to eat them. Coziness is not something I have to think about.
