Just caught up with Berry's little health hiccup. I hope it's nothing too. I see he's a little wet around the mouth/beak.

Hi guys,
I am so touched by all your concern and ideas about what happened here - thanks so much.
Happy to report Berry is his usual perky little self this morning. Nothing seems amiss.
Interesting thoughts about droppings and mis-aimed regurgitate... Stace, he is a little wet round the mouth but this picture was taken after breakfast so he had probably been at some damp dill at this point.
I had a chat on phone with a vet this morning who said that given his relationship with Luee etc, if it was vomit and it is a one-off, it was probably "behavioural" rather than related to illness. Having said that he is extra vulnerable with the circovirus, so be vigilant.
When I said that one idea was that he may have vomitted after falling, he said he was more concerned about the falling but when I explained that this only really happens when he is moving around - it is not that he spontaneously falls from his perch - that seemed explicable too.
He did ask whether he was showing any problems with his feet (e.g. inflammation, bumblefoot signs etc) but I really don't think so. Berry seems very happy on his outsize 'plates of meat' (rhyming slang for those not familiar with the weird ways of the British)!
He did say it would be possible to do a simple blood test at some point to see how his white cell count is. This would give an indication of his overall health in the context of the beak & feather disease. If he shows any other concerning signs I would do this as I think Luee's health is inextricably linked to Berry's. I don't like to imagine how the yella fella would fare without his beloved pinging Berry.
I think it is safe to say we all want little bitty Berry pinging his heart out for as long as possible!

So pleased I was wrong. Sorry I caused you so much worry but I would never have forgiven myself if I hadn't said anything and something happened. Our little ones (I have a French moult)are so fragile and so precious caution is always the best way to go.
