Oh dear...I am taking fatty bom to the vets at 5pm today as he seems to have poop stuck around his fatty bum bum,i have tried to look myself if its stuck to his vent but he has such a fluffy bum its hard to tell..I know it should not stick so think it is best to have it checked out...i am praying it is nothing major...

Fingers and wings crossed here Moogie. Joey very often gets poop stuck to his fluffy feathers around the vent area. Sometime it is very hard to see, but Joey gets it free, either by pecking it out or kicking with his legs. If it is bad I give him a misting directing at the vent area. Good luck.

I dont believe it!!!!! He is totally fine the vet gave him (what he called) a little bikini wax just to get rid of some of his bum feathers and it is getting stuck due to the size/shape of his fatty boom boom bottom...he has gained weight so i have to cut down on his seed as he does gorge it he also surrgested trying to get him on harrisons high potency supreme super fine pellets as they contain a lot less fat but said it may be a struggle as budgies will always want to eat seed and can go on hunger strike so just see over time if i can slowly convert them but if not then just less seed.... So he really is my fatty Boom boom

I won't give mine pellets as full diet. My solution always is to use other high protein diets and less seeds. Some get hard-boiled eggs without yolk, first thing in the morning, along with vegetables with no seeds to be seen. During rest of the day, their seed intake is reduced automatically. Seeds are not fattening as some people think. You can always use more canary seeds as they are high in protein. Glad that he is fine
