I think Joey and Whiskers will be fine. Sometimes circumstances change and you do the best you can to keep your birds healthy and happy. Corie, Starrymist and Starlingqueen all had positive experiences with their budgies and other birds.

Thank you OP, we've just got to keep on keeping on haven't we? I do think if stress were to bring anything to the surface for Whiskers, it would have shown itself by now wouldn't it?

I would hope so Starrymist, it's certainly shown up on me. Sleepless nights and days (that's right). Things needing doing while we have the good weather. Just normal life really. Thank you Budgiefriend.

Hey it is what it is OP. You have to take your health into account too. Little wings crossed all will be well. So I bet they are going mad now they can see each other....updates I need updates!

No repercussions needed OP. You have to take all of the household's occupants into consideration. @corie has made some very pertinent points with regard to shows and quarantine. I stress quarantine onto those introducing another bird mainly because many don't recognise a sick bird when they see one. Whiskers is obviously not stressed about changing residence so the chance of something untoward popping up with him now is minimal, I feel. As to your other question on boarding an outsider for any period of time, I would keep them apart - that is just me. Mostly because I don't know anyone who has birds and gives them the level of care that I do. I realise that sounds rather self-promoting, but ...........

I don't see a movie in this at all, ffiscool, unless you like a thriller suspense that is like watching paint dry. Maybe later when they are both out and about.
Thank you Mizloco, the health has taken a slight downturn, but I will recover with rest. I can stand the excitement it's all the toil that I have put in over this whole month not just this episode.
Thank you Hezz, your understanding means a lot to me. I have kept a close watch for any signs of a sick bird. I don't know all the symptoms by any means. He did have a day of loose messy poops but that was the day I got him to drink from the silo. He has not been lethargic for one moment, he eats and drinks at his own pace now. He is talking ten to the dozen at times, so I think he is one happy healthy budgie. As for you last paragraph, you simply care about your flock, you know your flock and you take what the others say about the care they give to their budgie(s).

You must think of your health first OP, I know we spoil our budgies and give them the top brick off the chimney, but if you were really ill, who would look after them? Don't blame you at all for what you are doing. Hope it all goes well!! Good health vibes to starrymist from me and from my budgies (and chickens!!).

Sorry OP, it was the title that made me think of When Harry Met Sally rather than an actual film being made
Agree with all above re you looking out for yourself too. After all you need to be ok to look after them

Yes I realized what you meant ffiscool. I will take more care of myself. I have done far too much before taking the drive to Diss. Actually that drive was rather relaxing for me. I used to that sort of thing for a job, it was a long time ago mind. I have done quite a lot of DIY while we had good weather. I also felled a 30ft + conifer tree. Stripped all the branches and run them through a machine. I still think I am in my forties you see.

I'll bet there's a lot of 40 year olds who don't do half as much as you do on a daily basis OP.
