They are tucked up and all quiet. It doesn't take long once the cover goes on. Night Night Joey, night night Whiskers.

Their's is a lovely story, OP. It must be so nice to have such a characterful fellow as Whiskers leading you a merry dance. With his feathers, yes, that feeather with the missing top will have to wait it's turn to moult out. Once he regrows a couple of those major flights, and as long as he keeps them, his flying should improve no end.

Thank you Hezz. I thought that's how things would go. I think all the major moulting have passed by again. There was a lot less on the cage floor this morning. It may have been me getting Whiskers out of the cage the first time that damaged the feather. The sooner I get him finger trained the better, it will take time though. I don't think either of them will be doing much flying. They are like a couple of young lovers, all over each other. Joey is besotted with Wiskers and Whiskers is definitely leading the affair.

There seems to be a change this morning. It's hard to put my finger on, but whilst the strong friendship is still there they seem to be a bit more independent. Joey is at least. He has just flown out of the cage on to the gym and is calling for whiskers. Interesting developments are afoot. I will report when it plays out.

Whiskers is hanging onto Joey's coat tails today. Joey is leading the way and Wiskers is following. Hang on Whiskers just came out of the cage, had a look round and went back in. Interesting.

I wouldn't place any bets on this one Moogie. It certainly looked as though Whiskers was going to be tops with Joey doing the asking. Today Joey seems in charge of that and when he's had enough Whiskers gets a head but. Whiskers is doing all the snuggling up. There has been no feeding between them that I have seen. I have seen Joey nudge Whiskers off the seed silo a couple of times. I think it's a close call yet. I've put the telly in the cupboard for now.

I have just spent half an hour watching these fellows. I have a video to put up for later. Unfortunately I missed a bit of action where it looked like Whiskers was feeding Joey, however moments later Whiskers was displaying his wings raised from his body and meeping. I have seen this in blackbirds when the young come begging for food from the parents. Could this be what I was witnessing? It is so confusing at the moment.

I've seen my 2 do this, and it looks to me like Joey feeding Whiskers.

I love to see my 2 feeding each other. What a lovely bonded friendship these 2 boys have struck up in such a short space of time OP. It's a joy.
