Hi, I'm reyswoman!! I'm new to the budgie scene, though drama full it is rewarding to see my new buds feeling better. I have two new budgies. Rosette is a light blue female(?) and Caden is a sky blue violet male(?). As I'm told by the pet shop the original owner got them from. Rosette has a stress induced respiratory infection and weepy eye. But the vet fixed her right up. I am learning all I can about raising budgies. Luckily for me Caden seems quite healthy and bossy!! I have four children but they are very respectful of the buds and leave them alone for now. I am teaching them to care for them also. ( my oldest two the other two are a little young). We'll, if you want to know anything more ask away and I'll answer as best as I can. Thank you for such a wonderful site it has been so helpful and I would be crazy trying to read all the info I need!

Hi. I'm a relative newbie too. I've had Merry and Pippin for four months now. They've just been treated for a respiratory infection with baytril for a week. What did the vet suggest for rosette? That's good she's feeling better now. Do you know how old they are? I would've felt very alone without this forum. It's a mine of information and a great group of people.

Yes it is! I love this forum. I think my buds are about 6 months old. The vet gave them orbax (orbifloxacin) .02 ml once daily. And tobramycin for her eye one drop 3 times daily. I have only had mine since last Thursday! I am so glad she seems to be better after just one dose! How did yours do? My female is a bit aggressive so I'm working with her! Did you find anything handy for training?

Hi there. Where are you from? It's helpful sometimes to know if you're asking for advice. Oh, der! I see it now in your profile.

Heehee it's fine I'm from West Virginia in the US ( added that for lack of looking at your profile . I am four days into being an unexpecting owner of two budgies and I worry I tend to bond quickly with anything live in my house! I have four boys, two budgies, and lots of plants!! I love life! I love having it all around me.

Ok call me crazy or insane!! Everyone who can read knows what I went through in my four days as a budgie owner, so what do I do? Decide to rescue a few more from being returned to the pet shop and decided to bring them home instead!! So, the same guy who gave me my budgies has to leave town and has no one to watch over and play with the new chicks. So, decides to send them all back to the pet shop and start over after his traveling is over and he has time to hand tame babies. So I decided to being them home so they won't have to spend their lives in a pet shop all alone!! So intead of two budgies I know am mommy to one set of juveniles, a set of breeders, and three chics!! I hope I'm ready for this! And I am defiantly getting an aviary!! Lol sucker for a cute beak!!
