Ok I now have a constipated budgie!  I assume it's the meds, so went out and bought some celery which he has had some of (thankfully). Also our kettle broke today $#@&*! Anyone else want a piece of me today as I am afraid the well is now completely dry!  |

oh no... are they allowed anything equivalent to lactulose? I think mainly sugar but sort of makes it softer and easier etc..
as for the kettle - just go straight for the wine...
seriously, it is always something that finally does it, no matter how big or small, when we are already stressed beyond..

You were obviously using that kettle too much. You can always buy another, they are as cheap as chips from the supermarket. Watch out for when the constipation breaks. Make sure the cage door is closed for a good while. Alfie could be off like a rocket.

All back to normal! Gave him his celery, made sure his vent was clear/clean and he is pooping normally. Hooray!  |

Yes he is a bit happier he has just been giving me little "chit" complaints whilst I changed his millet! He didn't fly off he just gave my hand a little telling off (in a nice way) he is also preening fastidiously now where as he didn't really care before. When I get online again I shall post a up-to-date picture Yes I think he was constipated Hezz as he was doing a bit of straining and then a bum wiggle with no result. Furthermore he did have a little build up that I had to gently clean off but he has had several healthier poops today and even a better size than they were before so he is obviously getting food in |
