He's a little bugger. He's wearing the cone to stop him scratching or rubbing the eye but he's just been rubbing it on the inside of the cone. Any pressure can cause damage so now we have to watch him all the time. ![B-|](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/notamused.png)

Great to hear Teddy is feeling better, it must be lovely for him to see something.

I held him up to look at the aviary today, thought he might be able to see with the daylight bulb lighting it up. He was a bit fidgety, wanting to get down then they moved and he looked up and just followed them as they moved around. He was entranced.

I can only imagine the joy he must be feeling starlingqueen. What a fantastic gift, both you and the vet have given this little guy.

WonderTed ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) Hope he has a good few years left to enjoy bless him, and you for your care, not easy! Yes, apart from neutering the only thing he's had is a grass seed removed from his ear and a piece of broccoli stalk that he got stuck in his throat, vegetation seem to be his nemesis. ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png) He's been as fit as a butchers dog, even the diabetes he developed really late compared to most dogs that are predisposed to getting it. His brother, who my friend had, was 9 when he developed it and he is no longer with us as he was PTS shortly after diagnosis. Teddy has no arthritis either. I suppose being a cross breed is the reason for it. They say the mixed breeds are stronger. Save

Any development with his sight, SQ?

Any development with his sight, SQ? There is definitely sight, he is holding his head up and looking about. Before he just hung his head. He also closes his eyes when he sleeps now. The extent of his vision is still not clear. I waved my hand in front of him about 2 feet away and he snapped his mouth like I was offering him a treat, so he saw my hand, recognised it as such but has no depth perception, although he doesn't bump into things any more and he followed me from the kitchen when I had his food. I think He will be better when his cone is removed as he has no peripheral vision and he can't see where he is walking, so that can't be helping. He is by no means seeing as we do but he seems happier in himself. And as my son so eloquently put it, he doesn't need to be put to sleep any more. SaveSave

That all sounds positive, at least. Hopefully it will all improve more as the eye heals, as well. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)
