He's doing great. He seems happier and he's seeing us as we walk around. The swelling in his eye is greatly reduced too. Strangely his hearing is slightly better too. Don't know why that would be unless it's the cone amplifying things. The only problem we are having is he's waking up early and wanting his food. He can only have it at set times because of his diabetes so he spends hours wandering around and pestering for his breakfast. It must be to do with the light filtering through and waking him up. He was screaming at 7.30 this morning. I was down the stairs before my backside had left the bed, I thought he had hurt himself but he was just sitting in the middle of the lounge howling, he stopped when I entered the room because he saw me.

Aw. I'm so glad that he's happier, makes it all worthwhile doesn't it.
I guess he's more alert with the hearing because he can see what is making the noises, whereas before he could hear things but not see them.
Now he can see he doesn't like being on his own because he wants you to be there all the time!

It is good to see him happier but I can't help feeling a bit disappointed that he can't see better. I suppose at his age I shouldn't have expected so much.

The collar will surely be directing sound straight into his ears: poor little fella probably feels that the two go together, as well - seeing better and hearing better.

Sorry, but I had to chuckle picturing Teddy sitting in the middle of the room howling for his breakfast. I expect you had palpitations starlingqueen, so not at all funny. What these creatures put us through it's a wonder we don't all die from heart attacks!!!

I swear I heard him say "good morning, did I wake you"? Save

He's doing fine thank you for asking. I think he can see just light and dark. Not a lot better than before the op but slightly. He is more cheerful but I believe that is due to the cone he is wearing. He can walk about without fear of hurting himself if he bumps into something. We now have the dilemma of removing the cone and him banging his face. I am therefore awaiting the delivery of a product that I will us to make him a halo like this. www.blinddogmilo.com/10/01/2014/make-collar-blind-dog-ehow-uk/

As long as he seems happier that's brilliant. Good luck with the halo.
