Hello budgie friends! I believe that my budgie is very stubborn. He/she definitely pays quite a lot of attention to his/her personal space. He never loves me to touch on the top of the head. He/she comes to my hand and when I want to get him/her out from the cage, immediately turns back before even the door. He/she goes out when wants to. Continuously bites(licks or touches, it doesn't hurt) my hand. He(she is also afraid of surroundings quite a lot. if a book falls at the other corner of the room, it sometimes frightens him/her. Especially he doesn't like the kettle sound. I think is his/her character but do you think that I can change the character a bit to be more playful with us? It is maybe related with the age as it is not yet 5 months old? I am sure, he/she is getting offended every weekdays when we go to work but I wanted to buy a friend after I tame him/her completely. Your advises are appreciated.

You and your bird have had about a month of association with each other; that's not very long. You must be patient and work with the bird. Most budgies do not like being touched; they prefer to do the touching, as you say licking and nibbling on your hand. Work with this rather than trying to do something that the bird doesn't like. If you are out all day, leave a radio playing in the background - they do like to have noise around them all the time, silence means danger to them.
If I drop a book, my budgies will jump as well; sudden, loud, unexpected noises will get that reaction, that is not unusual.
