Squawk is 3 Marianne Marlow. Luckily he doesn't have the over growing beak and nails, ?wonder why. His droppings are always a bit yellow, but Chirpys can be too so I reckon the pellets could be a factor in that. Chirpy is in full health, no problems whatsoever with him. He's had 2 vet checks. One thing I have noticed with Squawk from last time he was ill 2 years ago and last week apart from the lethargy is he drinks a lot more when he's sick. Has Custard been checked that infection has definitely gone? It may well be he needs a different antibiotic if not? I don't know if you remember but Squawk was on them constantly for at least 2 months and all he needed was a change of diet to pellets to get him back on track. Is Custard on the pellets?

Yes, Custard also drinks more when he is sick.
Custard is not on pellets, it's so hard to get so many budgies to eat pellets!
I did try once, but I just couldn't get them interested.

It takes time for them to adapt. I never thought Chirpy would take to them but after a few weeks he just started tucking in. I was gob smacked as he never showed any interest up until then.

I have 9 budgies, some of them are getting on in years. I'm just not sure it's worth the huge effort.

Hi guys, New here, so I apologise for replying on this thread, I figured it would be better to ask here than to start another (Correct me otherwise though ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ) So our budgie Tino is looking a bit under the weather, sleeping a lot and quiet, I believe that it's liver issues ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) . I'm looking into buying him Harrisons food (not sure which type yet - any recommendations would be good!) and I'm attempting to buy the milk thistle stuff but I'm confused regarding the mg, I've seen 500mg, 900mg and 2000mg. Does it mater which one I buy, I'm assuming that the higher the mg the lower the dose? Sorry again for posting here! Thanks guys!

Does it mater which one I buy, I'm assuming that the higher the mg the lower the dose? Sorry again for posting here! Thanks guys! My budgies are on Harrisons lifetime super fine pellets. I purchase them from Animed and here's the link: www.animeddirect.co.uk/harrisons-adult-bird-food-lifetime-super-fine-450g.html?q=harrisons+lifetime+super+fiFor the milk thistle and I cartinine I was recommended some which I got from Amazon and I have put photos of what I bought on an earliest post on this thread. My bird has liver disease and it was recommended to put a small pinch of each in his food daily. I have been doing it now for 3 weeks. He is improving and I'll call vet in a week or two with an update to see how much longer he needs to stay on it. I would recommend that you speak to your vet first before putting your budgie on any supplements.

I get the lifetime super fine pellets too but they seem to be out of stock in a lot of places right now. I had to get my last lot from ebay.

Squawk's picked up really well. I've called the vet who has told me that Squawk will need to stay on the milk thistle and I Carnitine for the rest of his life. The good news is that it's safe for Chirpy to so they don't need to stay separated. I've put Squawk back in with Chirpy and all is well so far but I've got my beady eye on them 😄 I tried to put a video on but can't do it.
