It's a great theme for the February Budgerigar Contest C'mon BB! We have never seen photos of any of your birds. I, for one, am curious. And I repeat!

Hi BB
I'm sorry that you feel that not a lot of people commented on your birds. I thought I did. You had an especially lovely green bird that I liked. He is gorgeous!
It's annoying that people have been nicking your photos, that would pee me off a bit too.

Hey BB, thank you soooo very much! And for comps......me too! In one I felt I had to vote for my birds as no-one else was going to. Some of the photos I do recognise now, but others I have missed - I don't go to the exhibition treads too much. So sorry you had been having problems with nicked photos - that is just plain wrong! PS Don't worry about the link, now. I did try translating to english but only got a couple of words. But thank you for the kind thought.

I check the users, Marianne, make sure there are no dodgy ones. If they are regulars I leave again. A bit like the blogs - I don't get blogs, so just check the users, not the content. Do I get a slap on the wrist? Probably should.

It's annoying that people have been nicking your photos, that would pee me off a bit too. Thank you Marianne I know you always make sure to comment. I did read my post again and in a way, it does sound that I am expressing my displeasure about people not commenting on my threads, but in fact I am not. It's everybody choice to comment when, where and what they want and I respect that. What I meant was, that I was asked before as well to post some pictures and when I did so, people who asked for it did not bother to comment. Similarly I did not enter the competition again because I thought my picture was not good enough to get votes and it was better to vote for someone else's better picture. Thanks Stace and Hezz for your thoughts.

Thanks Stace and Hezz for your thoughts. You have some lovely birds BB, thank you for givng your links so we can see them, not sure if I was a member on the forum when you posted them before otherwise I know would have commented! Would also say that perhaps I dont look at all the categories on here like under "breeding" for example as I only have 1 bird. But that doesnt mean that I shouldn't take an interest so perhaps I shall look more around the subject titles - I feel like I live on here as it is as I love all the budgies on the forum, so think I should spend a little more time on here (good excuse as any to learn more about our feathered friends) ;D

Yes, waggly finger for you too, Sam! If you're not careful. I have posted before, and will do so again, it is ruining the competitions I feel that so few of our members vote. There are not enough people voting who also haven't entered the comps and so we get to where BB mentioned, having to vote for your own out of loyalty, as there aren't enough votes to go around. For this reason I have chosen to not enter for a bit and enjoy voting for my favourite photo from someone else.

How is he doing? Personally I check all the threads and there are very few where I don't comment. But this is understandable that all threads cannot be of interest for all members. For example, "How to breed a successful Show Bird" will not draw the attention of all members, whereas "How to keep your budgie healthy" will draw the attention of almost all members. The most important thing is to have members who are able to contribute in different sections, and I think we have that. For example, very few would have the knowledge which Barrie has about breeding show birds. Hezz is very knowledgeable when it comes to pet budgies, taming etc. Marianne’s knowledge about budgie related health issues is as good as anyone. Just a few to mention as there are others as well. You are right that these feathered friends keep us together here.

It does become time consuming. That is the main reason I have to skim some sections, mainly looking for spammers, because I also want to enjoy the forum, and participate in the on-going threads, and for it not to become a chore. We really have gone off topic, so to all entrants, good luck and if you haven't gotten yours in yet, do so soon.
