ffiscool there's a lot that wasn't in the news, some because of privacy laws here and some was political. The White House has its own intensive care unit in case the president or his family gets sick. He did get oxygen twice before going to the hospital. His treatment in the hospital was very aggressive. He got medicines that are not available to anyone else. If you watch that video of him returning to the White House you can see he is breathing heavily. He also got medicines to treat the individual symptoms and pain. Trump is paranoid and didn't want any news to report his illness because he didn't want the rest of the world thinking he was seriously ill. Hence the drive around while he was still hospitalized. He has a doctor with him in the White House 24 hours. All of this shows me that with aggressive treatment, you could get over it quicker than what we're seeing, however that treatment is not available to us. It also shows truly how out of touch he is because he doesn't seem to realize that he got special treatment that none of us would ever get. It just gets me wound up when I hear what he's saying about the coronavirus. I'll stop now before I get into a real fit.

ah.. ok.. makes sense. Could he not have avoided hospital then, having all that done whilst still at home? Or was that part to say I went to hospital and I am ok now.
I just feel that he is making himself more stupid (here in the UK) by doing what he is. I also think he is insulting those who have lost people to it, or those who have long term symptoms months later.
But yes, I am sure there are more things that could be done when funds are limitless. I might have missed it but no update on Melania..
On another note but it touched on Covid - a great programme I thought last night, Prince William - re saving the planet.. worthy of a watch. great scenery and I do believe he is genuine, how he is, what he says.. saw glimpses of Diana in his facial expressions too.

Yes, I think it strange that we have not heard anything about Melania Trump. From what I heard after they put Trump on oxygen, they decided it was safer to move him to the hospital where there are more medical people to take care of him. We all know he's a liar so when he says he's never felt better in 20 years, I'm not sure that's the truth. I also think what he says about coronavirus is dismissive of those who are suffering and families who have lost loved ones to the virus.
I'll have to see if I can find the video of Prince William, I'd be interested in watching that.

Just checking in for a "reality" check. We are hearing in the news here that Europe is bracing for a new coronavirus wave. How are things where you live?
Nov 3 is election day here. Because so many people are voting by absentee ballot because of the coronavirus, we are hearing that it could be a few days before the final count is in but we'll have a good count by the end of day Nov 3 - enough to know who's going to be the next president. Whatever happens, it will be messy. Many people are quietly getting ready for massive riots and protests and are stocking up so they don't have to go out for a couple of weeks. Sad but it seems riots are what happens these days.

It’s anticipated here. So we have a tier system now. Some of England is on 3, so things shutting down again. No mixing of households.
Our PM doesn’t want to do a ‘circuit breaker’ few week lockdown. Opposition leader is demanding it
I think we keep trying things without waiting fir the effects so we’ll never know what works
Problem is yet again, loads of party goers on the streets spreading germs
I honestly think if they do the lockdowns by areas, that it will help. But we keep trying so many things.
I hope we don’t get the lockdown as it will just all start again after it. It’s not helping as a UK wide thing
Well, all I can say is, think you’re right. But Trump’s miraculous recovery from covid, might just get him re elected. He’s a loose cannon and I think people fall for it all, think he’s invincible etc
Meanwhile is Melania still ill, very very odd. Unless you get to hear more there but pretty sure she’s not been mentioned here

Here, in India, life is as normal as it can be. Even the IT sectors are thinking about working back from office, after sometime. We are just laughing at how scared we were at 20 cases and now, it's all free to go anywhere!
The media tells about second wave in certain states. I'm not even sure if the first wave has ended! There are mixed news about the counts of positive cases & deaths. There have been instructions to doctors and healthcare workers to not mention cases above certain numbers (as heard from friends there).
Many hospitals are taking advantage to generate false reports of corona and treating patients for money. Insurance companies are offering covid insurances to everyone. Lol.. Business opportunities at any time!
There have been news about some ayurvedic herbs, causing lower deaths and high immunity. The herb combination actually tastes so bitter that we haven't been able to consume it on a regular basis (even added salt, honey, lemon to that herb tea to dilute the bitterness!) It's too warm for the body to absorb. They have been talking about taking steam for prevention and what not! I really can't believe media/social media these days...it's just a bin full of negative psychology!
I guess, here no ones looking at any other lockdown now. The strategy would have been better earlier, if state wise or area wise lockdown were imposed earlier, instead of countrywide imposition. The laborers eventually spread it to the rural areas.
Indian health ministry is too afraid to put out any predictions, plans or numbers!
Sometimes, it's overwhelming when you can't visit people due to precautions. I don't hesitate anymore now, to ask any person entering my home to keep their mask on or sanitize themselves! People literally laugh at me when I sanitize the purchased items or take a bath after an outdoor visit! 🤦♀️
Fortunately, our close friends and relatives have recovered from the disease. Then sometimes I think how uncertain life is anyway! The best for us here, is to not look at the numbers and go on with life with all precautions!

Yes ffiscool the news has been quiet on Melania Trump. Apparently she released a news brief yesterday saying she was doing better. She stayed at the White House and opted for more mainstream treatment rather than the aggressive "throw everything at it" approach that her husband took. We also heard for the first time that their son Barron tested positive but apparently had no symptoms. I find it interesting the different approaches people are taking around the world mona. Glad that your family and friends have recovered. I'm also trying to do what I can to build up my immune system unfortunately the use of herbs and natural remedies isn't used much so I have to do my own research. I have added daily doses of zinc food to my routine. This weekend when I make my trip to the grocery store, I'll look at buying dry goods and frozen foods to get me through the two week period after the election. Wouldn't you like to fast forward 50 years in the future and read what history writes about all of this?

I dread to think what the world will be like in the next 50 years, the way we're treating it.
I certainly won't be here to see it.

In 50 years time I'll be 122, never say never I think we'll eventually go back into a short lockdown, circuit breaker or whatever. If the experts say that we should then I will support it. I think we locked down too late the first time and came out too early. I know the economy was suffering, and it caused a backlog of treatment for serious health problems, but maybe we could have got right on top of it. But who knows. I'm just keeping myself safe, being sensible, respecting others and hope they do the same for me.

Zinc is very good for boosting immunity.
I won’t be here in 50 years either. The way it’s going we may all live however long, but all this will make it feel even longer

I guess very few people knew about 1918 spanish flu, until covid showed up. Probably, everyone will again forget about it and I hope no one has to recall this ever again in future.
Since the day I heard about covid, I have been constantly thinking.. We, humans, took everything for granted and believed that we are the strongest of all creatures. We destroyed forests & homes of so many fellow creatures. Covid seems to be a reality check.. Mother nature just showed a trailer that it's not so! An invisible virus is apparently much stronger than humans! It's the fear of death that makes one ponder and drives one towards humility. Hoping that everyone will learn to live in harmony! Nothing works better than Love! ❤

After the Spanish Flu, which my mum and dad lived through as children, another pandemic was always predicted, but no-one seems to have planned for one on the sheer scale of the Spanish Flu.
Yes, they didn't know what was coming, but even when they did they seemed to dither and hope for the best instead of taking early action.
I know hindsight is a wonderful thing, but there were warnings. The very least we could have done would have been to have adequate stocks of PPE.
