We are but it’s not as restricting this time. Hardware places, carpet places open
It was more that the market was swamped, I wouldn’t enjoy that at the best of times. So no social distancing. It’s made more rebel and go out this time

Does anyone else think that despite Boris Johnson saying that lockdown will automatically end on 2nd December it will have to continue? Purely because of the numbers getting worse and going into the colder months? Well done on your new President tweetiepiesmom, we have been watching with interest in our household too! Is there any finality about it yet or are they still recounting?!

I think it will end but there will be another not long after
What’s the point of this lockdown though, when loads are flouting it. The numbers will never be low enough

Many people are very happy about the new president samwiseg but Trump still has his core group of supporters who believe anything he says. Trump's ego will not accept that he lost and he will continue to fight it to the very end. The election results will not change. Biden is meeting with his team today to develop a strategy to deal with the coronavirus including how to keep everyone safe, how to distribute the vaccine when its available and how to come up with treatment protocols. As we all wake up here, we're hearing the news from Paris that Pfizer has a vaccine that's 90% effective. Very good news!

he needs to grow up. I saw an article online basically saying Melania will now divorce him. Obviously that is not confirmed, and speculation, but...
yes, it seems that if approved, it will release 50 million vaccines by the end of the year. They have gone for urgent approval which might be by the end of November. TBH you would think this should be approved in days, given the seriousness of it all.
let's hope.. what was said too is that they need to confirm if it was tested on elderly more vulnerable, as if not, it might exclude them from being given it. but in theory if so many are being vaccinated, then the chances of the elderly catching it would diminish too
fingers crossed - a massive potential light at the end of the tunnel

Exciting news about the vaccine and I don't think the AstraZeneca one is far behind. We might be offered both if they target the virus in different ways.
We had our first £10.000 fine in the area yesterday. A travellers funeral with over 150 mourners gathered in the town centre. I'm not sure why they think the law doesn't apply to them. A friend died recently (ovarian cancer - not covid) and the funeral was last week with just half a dozen mourners. These are the times we are living in and we ALL need to observe the rules. It makes me so cross.

Yes, heard a third on the cards. My brother was on a zoom thing today with an eminent scientist, who said if these vaccines do their 90% that if given by the end of this year, we might be able to be somewhere closer to normal by spring. The theory could be too that herd immunity to an extent will have to happen once those who have been vaccinated go out and about
Agree, I do understand they’re grief stricken but as you say they are needing to conform.
I heard about someone else I knew who sadly passed away from covid, they had the 5 allowed

I'm sure that herd immunity has definitely happened in India.. Not all the cases are registered.. esp the rural areas. Not even sure if they know about social distancing and masks!
Many might have been infected and recovered! There are some places in India, where they aren't wearing masks, since there are no cases! Heavenly place it would be. Talking about one of the remote places/hilly area in North India..

We had 2 students near us charged 10,000 each because they held a party. What with their student debts I don't know how they'll pay it back to be honest. But they were aware of the rules as is everyone else so you take the risk you pay the fine. Heard something too about that Biden is going to make Obama something to do with the UK which might make things...a tad awkward shall we say?!!!

Does it go down as ‘a record’ too I wonder
If not, it maybe should. It might make more think, those students possibly could reduce their chances of jobs
It’s not just about breaking rules/the law, it’s about putting so many lives at risk
I like Obama. And let’s see how Kamala does, as Biden being a bit older, who knows the next 4 years... he seems very warm. They showed a film of him kissing a boy who’d flung his arms round him. He lost his wife and daughter I think in a car crash, then another son

I haven't heard anything in the news here about a political appointment for Obama samwiseg but Biden could appoint him as ambassador to England. Nixon served as ambassador to China even though he was impeached as president. Biden does seem very down to earth, not a privileged person at all. He promised that the first thing he would address is the approach to the coronavirus and he's making good on that promise.

I listened to a speech of Joe Biden's a couple of days ago tweetiepiesmom and was blown away. Now that's a leader I thought as he is the first person to talk sense about Covid 19, mask wearing and vaccines and not once making it out to be a political choice. And you're right, whisper is Biden is tipped to make Obama Ambassador to the UK...oooh I do hope so!

I would love Obama to be Ambassador to the UK. He wont take any nonsense from this government and Boris Johnson I think will be scared stiff of him.

He’s very charismatic. Wonder if he’d like to become British and be PM
