The only place I am able to get deliveries is Iceland. It's not a store that I use but overall I have been impressed, though they do not stock everything I want. My only mishap was a bag of potatoes that turned out to be a sack, but that was my mistake, not theirs. oh not tried Iceland. I was fortunate to get onto the lists and had been on them from early last year when I had an op, and then couldn't do anything much for quite a few weeks. But also, when Sainsbury I think were getting info from the GPs and/or government to those vulnerable, I had been added that way. Just as well I am on it still, as not been out since just before Christmas, broke a toe, still cannot walk with a shoe on, and walk mostly on my heel.. app can take about 6 weeks to be better

ffiscool Ouch! I broke a toe once. I couldn't even bear the sheets touching it. Luckily it was summer, but even so no footwear was comfortable. It was the 2nd toe next to my big toe on the left foot, and I was waiting for a right hip replacement so it was a completely rubbish time. I hope you are pain-free soon. When this pandemic hit, I signed up with every supermarket. I managed once to get an Asda delivery but since then I haven't been able to get a delivery from a big supermarket. Asda does the only ground coffee I like, so I usually end up going out. Iceland is good for the essentials and I can always get a delivery, usually the next day.

this one is the toe on my left foot, next to little toe. I am definitely walking easier but it is not bending. still looks bruised to me. problem is, I am missing walking, as everything I eat is going nowhere, lol, tried to eat less. it only hurts if I touch it, or walk, when it is up, it is fine, but thank you.
I used to be able to get Morrisons but nothing now. Some are doing click and collect if that is of use to you?
my sister in law used Amazon Fresh which she said was good

You can refuse some apples/items if you want ffiscool, you probably know that already. Now that wehave to empty the boxes into our bags, you can check the items and give them back. A lot easier to do than when they unpacked the shopping. But then your shopping is low on fruit which is not good if you need to eat more fruit (like I do!!). Sorry about your toe, hope it gets better really quickly now.

Thank you, me too. I do need to walk, just getting fatter.
Yes I gave one lot back, didn’t realise they were sliced, albeit a massive bag of sliced. Trying not to make a cake with them, lol
It does amuse me at times what the substitutions are.

Wishing you a quick recovery on the toe ffiscool! Its interesting to hear how the grocery delivery is working over there. Before Christmas, I would go out once a week to my favorite grocery store (Trader Joe's for those in the US) and get delivery otherwise. Since Christmas I have not gone out at all which bums me out since my favorite store doesn't do delivery. We have a service (Instacart) here that will go to the stores and shop & deliver. They do charge a fee for that. Recently many of the stores will do delivery themselves although they are trying to convince people to send them the shopping list and come to the store to pick up the order. When you get to the store, you text them, pop open the car trunk and they'll put the bags in there. I haven't tried that but those that have said it worked well. One thing that I like about ordering on the computer is that, for each item, you mark it as "do not substitute" or select a replacement item. I have ordered from Amazon Fresh and also Whole Foods Market (which Amazon owns). If you order $35 there is no delivery fee. That has worked out well for me. From all appearances more people are now ordering delivery. I used to be able to get on the computer in the morning, place my order and get it later in the afternoon. Now I have to wait one or two days before a delivery time is available. Just means better planning. On the positive side it seems that the current surge in cases is slowing. We still have a big issue with the availability and locations that one can get the vaccine so that is also slowing down the recovery.

Thank you. It stays straight when I walk, so might ring for phone apt with the doc.
We have a higher minimum on most shops £40 plus delivery. Yours sounds good over there as I need to plan at least a week-10 days in advance to get a slot. I can also allow substitutions or not, but the face I had apples already on the list, then they substituted everything with apples as opposed to any other fruit, I found funny.
It’s a shame your favourite shop doesn’t do it. The cart thing sounds great!
My brother’s friend sent him a link last night for a vaccine centre. He booked himself for today, he had to take proof he is over 70. What I don’t get, there were clearly spare vaccines, whereas others in the area he had to go to, probably knew nothing about it.
It’s a bit haphazard over here
They’ve delayed schools opening here until March 8th. A long time.

I’m walking more in it but hurts again I realised today when I looked, the front is a blister. So that’s what I think hurts. I googled, as you do, it can happen after a fracture. Not that common though. I have a call into my health company gp as I just need to know if it will go, or needs a doc to help.
Had to attach photos, lucky doctor, lol

Extracting oats from Trill. Because, well it's lockdown day goodness knows how many and there's not many other exciting things to do at home! That and Barney's waist line will thank me for it. I swear Trill never used to have so many oats in it!

The oat content of mixes is ridiculous. I much prefer mixing up seeds myself, but Haiths selling only massive amounts doesn't really mesh with that when I only have 3 beaks to feed. I may have to look elsewhere.

That is a LOT of oats! I thought my mix had a lot, but not quite that much! Oh carbs, how thee disagree with tiny budgie tummies and make them fat instead xD I started cooking mash for my buds just recently. Still haven’t been able to go out and get a variety of grains, so I just made rice and beans with grated boiled egg and veggies - but specifically I finally got them to eat squash! I was making kobocha soup anyway, and out a small amount aside with spices and all (but no salt), and the poured over the above mash, and they gobbled it up! It had soaked into the rice pretty well, and that was what they were empathy after. Going to do puréed cooked sweet potatoes over quinoa next (with egg and veggie chop mixed in) and I have a feeling they won’t mind it that way again! They’re not picky about much, but cooked winter squash and sweet potato they have never touched, until now! Sorry I think this was supposed to be a thread about Covid, but oats led to mash which led to one of my usual long-winded shares... There really isn’t much going on is there?? 😅

O.M.G. Trill never used to look like that when I used to buy it, I am going back aa while though. Can you not buy something else, with a variety of seeds, that looks a bit more nutritional blueelephant?
