mona I don't have any words that could possibly help. I hope things start to improve soon for you and your loved ones. I will be thinking of you and sending my love.

Everyday I sit and watch the news with so much sadness and horror. Seeing the panic and fear in India is heartbreaking, let alone the ways in which those who have sadly passed are being cremated. My husband is a funeral director and over the past year he has seen so many families suffer through funerals, with numbers attending dictated by government no matter the cause of death and in the case of Covid, the deceased are not allowed to be viewed by their family members for a last goodbye. Often their last time of seeing them was prior to hospital admission. It has been so difficult knowing the pain they’ve all been through but to see the chaos in India and the impersonal ways the deceased have been disposed (I loathe that word but that’s what is happening) has been utterly awful. I completely understand and empathise with your feelings mona. I too would be angry, scared and frustrated by the way things are being handled and that bribes can be the only hope of saving a loved one. It is so wrong and I hope you feel better getting some of your emotions out by posting here. I hope that the vaccines will speed up as more supplies from the UK and other countries arrive and the same with oxygen supplies. The numbers of new daily infections are shocking and yet it appears the world still isn’t seeing the whole truth from India, and for people to be so scared of Covid they are not helping one another is horrible and sad. I really hope all your closest family members receive the vaccine soon and stay well and safe until then. I hope you and your OH are feeling physically better now. Keep looking after one another and keeping safe. My thoughts are with you.

I have nothing more to add but wanted to say I almost cried watching the reports coming out of India on the news last night. It is a terrible situation and there is no quick fix. Stay strong and stay safe.

All our thoughts are with you mona, it must be so awful for you out there. Am praying that some relief and aid gets to you extremely soon. If they can get a system established for the vaccines like the UK did then who knows but it sounds like the horse has bolted before the stable door has closed so they saying goes. Just heard on the news today that the cricket has been cancelled. A friend of ours in Japan is experiencing problems too as they have had another wave and are supposed to be holding the Olympics?! Its madness?!!! Prayers go out to you all x

mona how are you and hubby, rest of the family doing? From the news here it looks like things are still bad in India. I know many countries are sending supplies and aid to India. I hope its getting to the people and not going into the black market.

I'm fine, trying to divert my mind to other activities.. just wishing my immediate family and friends remain safe (though it's selfish)
Just made a birdie bread today to divert my mind, live in the present, enjoy all the moments with everyone we love and avoid news.. Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts.. 🤗🧡
Many countries are helping with the supplies. We are hoping that those are all put to good usage. I don't think people will mess up with international supplies though (hopefully!)... And at the same time, if people can be more responsible towards the society and not spread it due to carelessness.. The person from whom we caught covid, actually traveled back via flight to his home town in south india, since he had no one to take care of him over here. We didn't even step out once, except for CT scan from the hospital.. And no one was there to take care of us too.. the day we were positive or starting getting symptoms, we sent our househelp on leave, let all neighbours know about it and intimated the security guard too.. We were relieved to know that our househelp didn't get infected. We have sent her on leave for entire month to keep her and us safe.. we just can't believe how irresponsible people can be. That person works with my hubby and I'm wondering if we and all others don't catch another strain due to that person's carelessness!! We are thinking about reporting to police with his Covid report and flight tickets..people really get away like this..when there are rules at airports to have a negative covid certificate!
New chief justice has been appointed for supreme court. He ruled out to all the states that nothing on social media should be blocked and no one arrested for that. Courts, trade unions & experts have been asking for a lockdown, but govt doesn't intend to. Things are still bad.. we hope at least the cities with high number of cases and hospital beds full should be locked down.. we lost a friend with double or triple mutant strain. Her situation worsened in just 3 days and when she was hospitalized after that, her lungs were blocked 75 percent.. they couldn't save her..
Multiple people are dying in my sister's apartment and office. She has got work from home every alternate day, but her hubby is forced to go to office even on sundays (or he would be forced to resign!). Unless there's a lockdown, no one can voluntarily take a leave too.. We are just wishing for our loved ones to be safe.. life's indeed uncertain, so we all are connecting more with each other, listening to motivational or religious things that can motivate us..and avoiding news at all, though we can't ignore people dying in our circle & their stories.. 😔 Though we try to be optimistic always, I have often thought about what would happen to our birdies, if ever something happens to us and should I look out for any provision for rescue in advance. Just like nominee in the bank, it's already established my birdies should go to my mom in that case..and if situation doesn't allow for an immediate care, I need to find out the alternative. Does it sound odd/pessimistic to think like that?!

I am sorry for those you know that you lost and hope that number doesn't increase. I would also be tempted to report the person who spread it. so so selfish from here, we are hearing there might be a lockdown, so I hope that happens which should start reducing numbers. it is awful that people have to go in to offices or resign :-(

In countries that have done a lockdown, that has helped alot even though people were financially hurt because they weren't working. I hope India does do a lockdown until the spread gets under control. There will always be people who selfishly puts others at risk. We've seen that throughout the world. I'm so sorry for family and friends you've lost. Its also very frustrating because there's nothing to do to help them, not even holding their hand in the last moments. Do whatever you can to keep your spirits up. I'm sure Breezie and Cookie will help with that! When I first got Tweetie Pie and then Buddy, I asked my brother if he'd take care of them if they should out live me. I told him I was going to be like those eccentric ladies who leave all their money to their cat and leave everything I have to Tweetie Pie and Buddy. He reminded me that people in Australia used to eat budgies.

tweetiepiesmom That's not a bad idea.. about leaving everything you have to your birdies.. so they will be automatically taken care of.. that really made me laugh 😂 I think I might adopt that idea too.. 😆 PS: I'm completely in favor of a lockdown. If they can't go for countrywide, atleast the states which are hurt the most.. or even districts.. Lock something down!! They are going for night curfews (8pm to 6am) & shutting down of public spaces.. but still a complete lockdown of any place would help cut the transmission down.. I hope and wish they value life more than anything else right now!
