Sadly I think more and more will now flout the rules. June 21 was always too early given the hoped deadline if most being vaccinated by the end of July. The date, if changed again is going to incite so much. I do care, and I am maintaining the rules but I won’t, if it keeps carrying on. Of those who have died from one delta variant,12 had been double vaccinated.
It’s of course worrying but they may have had other issues

Today is the day that things are opening up in California. There are still a few restrictions. Masks are still required for public transportation and medical establishments. Businesses each will determine if masks will be required, so we'll need to check for signs at the door to tell us. I will continue to wear mine for at least two weeks until I see if the numbers of those hospitalized spikes. Yesterday when I took Buddy and Tweetie Pie to the vet, I still had the technician come and get them. Today the vet is letting people in but with masks. The news report said 72% of all Californians 12 years and older have had at least one shot. I'm hoping we've got it under control. Since we have a heat wave here this week, that is when people gather together at beaches or anywhere cooler like air conditioned stores so this will be good test.

I really hope everything settles and you can get back to something resembling “normal” tweetiepiesmom, but I’d be like you and remain cautious and wear my mask in case of spikes. How has the vaccination of children over 12 gone? Trials have been done over here and it looks likely the vaccine will be approved. I ask because my 14 year old son is classed as clinically vulnerable and he’s the main one we’re all protecting because he’d never cope with being hospitalised. Weighing everything up as I can see it at the present time, we’d definitely opt for him to have the vaccine and mention it even now to him so he can get used to the idea. There’s never too much preparation for people with autism. I just wondered if side effects had been reported on in California and if so, what seems to affect children most?

It appears that the vaccination of children has gone well. They seem to have similar side effects that the adults have had but to a lesser extent. In very few, rare cases a swelling of the tissue around the heart has occurred. The medical researchers are saying they may need a special vaccine for those children under 12.

Thanks for sharing that. Weighing up the possible side effects against the virus is a bit of a no-brainer for us. It will be interesting to see what vaccine they approve here or whether it’ll be one specifically for children.

😂😂 We were prescribed ivermectin during our covid treatment in combination with couple others.. including antibiotic, anti allergic medicines..and fabiflu for stopping the multiplication of virus in the body.. I have heard that every country is relying on a different combination of medicines.. My healthcare friend didn't know about the combination of drugs prescribed over here..

mona I guess I don't think of medicines that are used in animals being used in humans too but there is essentially no reason why not! It was just not the headline I was expecting when I looked at the news this morning 😂

One dot on the back of the neck once a week for 3 weeks and we'll all be fine.

blueelephant medicines developed for humans are used to treat pets, so why not the reverse? That bottle of ivermectin may be just enough for one dose in a human though! The good news though is that all counries are working on treatments now so in the future people who get the coronavirus can expect a much better outcome.

I think it's great that researchers are trying all sorts of drugs against covid. Apparently ivermectin is already used to treat human parasitic infections including head lice, scabies and river blindness. It doesn't seem likely to as covid treatment!

Ivermectin is used as a parasitic treatment in all animals from cattle right down to our budgies and finches, including humans. Not sure how effective it could be on a complex virus such as the corona viruses.
