Amazing tiger suesbird. I love having larger projects to cross stitch. I’ve seen a huge one of autumn trees (my favourite season) I’d love to make but I’d need a new tapestry frame. I’m currently working my way through Joan Elliot designs.

I had to get two frames and make one I will have a look at Joan Elliot. At the moment I am cutting 3 inch squares to make a quilt and then I will hand sew it. I prefer to hand sew than machine. Can you post a picture of what you are working on, I have just finished Peppa Pig for a birthday picture.

I have had a break from it for a few months as it is quite intense doing one stitch and changing colour. I am doing a quilt, crochet, knitting and small cross stitches so busy as usual So here he is, a bit grubby so will need a wash🤦♀️🤦♀️ WOW!! That is incredible! So real - it’s like a photograph!

If you making toys use a smaller hook so the stitches are very tight. I think that was exactly my trouble - using yarn that was too thick. At the time I had way too much yarn stockpiled and I didn’t want to buy any more. Oh and my smallest (plastic) crochet hook broke on me too. Someone gifted me a metal set though, and I donated most of my ran. Maybe I should try again with a small metal hook and buy some thinner yarn… hmmm… If I do anything crafty these days though, I feel like I should just be making more birdie toys!

I use the Addi swing crochet hooks. I have so much craft stuff hidden throughout the house, wool hidden in ottoman beds

Can you post a picture of what you are working on, I have just finished Peppa Pig for a birthday picture. I’m currently working on a faery design for each season. I started the winter faery this summer The spring and autumn faeries are complete. I’m waiting to do all four to get matching frames. These are Joan Elliot designs I’ve done and are framed: The Maiden & Unicorn I made for my daughter and is in her bedroom. Her boyfriend didn’t believe it was made from thread. He thought it was a print. I love the colours of a peacock and this is up in the dining room
It was a bit tricky getting photos of the framed ones without my reflection but hopefully it doesn’t detract from the design. I’d quite like to do all the medieval ladies designs once I’ve done the season faeries.

The socks look so cosy tweetiepiesmom, well worth the effort. I love Vincent suesbird and the tiger is stunning. The blankets are gorgeous ladybird, the rainbow blanket is my favourite. The faeries, unicorn and peacock are so detailed ariella they look amazing. I love the multicoloured fabric you used, it suits the designs perfectly. Such skilled crafters

I never realized how detailed and intricate cross stitching could be! The peacock is really beautiful - I wonder if so would have the patience to complete something like that myself though!

Ariella they are beautiful, have you done them on aida or the 28 count linen. I have done the geisha girl and Samurai Warrior, took me about 9 months each. I really love cross stitching.

willowsmum I buy the fabric from Polstitches. It’s hand-dyed to order, which isn’t cheap but as you say they add so much to the designs. Morgan I pick it up as and when I can. I taught myself when I was 15; bought a small kit and found it was enjoyable and relaxing. So I’ve been doing it for a while but you could start on something simple, like small designs to make into cards or gift tags, and work up as you feel ready. suesbird I use 14 count Aida. My eyes aren’t good enough for the evenweave. Joan Elliot has done a few beautiful Geisha designs. There’s so many to make and not enough time! ffiscool - baking is creative! You like doing that don’t you? Creativity comes in so many forms. The wall flowers painting sounds nice.
