I wouldn’t have a clue how much you can crochet in a couple of hours but I’m inspired at how quickly and competently you picked it up.

Thank you ariella. I'm surprised how quickly I picked it up too. Do you think you might have a try?

I’m not too sure criswell. It’s never appealed to me but I have a fair amount of friends who love it. Perhaps in a few years when the grandchildren start to come along I could be tempted. I know I’ll get lots of advice from plenty of crocheters on the forum if/when I do. At the moment I’ve really got into card making, something I’ve always done over the years, but this time I’m trying loads of new techniques and going for a theme per week (or fortnight as I don’t get a lot of time). Since the tree cards, I decided to do moon themed ones and used distress oxide ink to blend night skies for the backgrounds and then stamped and embossed on top of them. I then used up some Hunkydory toppers and made family cards and my first fountain cards and I recently bought a 8 x 8” Stamperia Cosmos paper pad and made some lovely cards from it and have enough left to make a number more. I have ordered some more beautiful paper pads as it’s really relaxing to make cards from them. Next week I’m returning back to the stamping with a cupcake theme. I’m also trying to finish off my cross stitch and am on the backstitching now.

I think your card making is fantastic ariella. I don't think I'd get on so well with that.

Thank you criswell. It’s quite time-consuming and makes my back ache if I spend too long on it, which is not usually the case, but I managed a few hours on Saturday and needed a hot water bottle on my back afterwards. I’ll post some piccies of the ones I’ve made recently.

Oh, it's a shame it makes your back hurt ariella. That's one good thing about crochet is that I can sit nice and comfortably while I do it. This is the gnome I made for my mum's birthday. She chose the pattern at the colours. She really loves him. I'm really pleased with how he turned out, especially his beard. I also made her a little cat as a surprise

I'm not a huge fan of cats criswell, but I'd gladly adopt yours

Thank you Marianne Marlow. I'm not a huge fan of cats either but my mum loves them.

Both the gnome and cat are very cute! Knitting gnomes seems to be a bit of a fad here right now. I've started knitting a simple gnome. If he turns out ok, I'll post a picture.

I just finished knitting a shawl. It was not difficult and fun to do while I watched the design emerge. A friend has a daughter who will deliver her first baby (and first grandbaby) in Dec. I think I'll give it to her to wrap around her shoulders during the night feedings.

That's beautiful @tweetipiesmom. I'm sure she will love it. How long did it take you to knit?
