I’d find something safe to block that hole and let the birds have the bigger cage. Too little room and you may well find that some aggression starts to raise its ugly head.

We now have Mum in the main cage after she started being aggressive to the chicks last night. So she's sulking. Biggles, who was alone in the main cage is also sulking at having his peace disturbed. Dad is on babysitting duties for three babies is also sulking at too much work. 🤣 The chicks are all happy though. Ds is thinking of calling the oldest Birb, and the younger two Yin and Yang because they look almost identical white and grey except the older one has one blue tail feather. They've all flown, and all eating some seeds and spinach (it took some time for them to work out how they could eat that!), although asking (loudly) for dad to feed them at intervals. Birb is blue and yellow and I think is going to be a girl, but not sure. Currently the cere is brown/purple colour. They're quiet and get on with eating on their own. Happy to be held, and will just sit in your hand. Yin I'm fairly certain is going to be a girl. Definitely the most feisty, and will peck all (including dad) to move if in the way. She did seem to be going for Birb's feet at one point, but Birb then trod on her head which seemed to solve that. She's also been feeding the others at times, and was the first to fly even though she is not the oldest. Yang I think will be a boy. Very gentle, loves being held, in fact when anyone's in the room is asking to come out. If you hold him in your hand, he walks up to your shoulder and stays there, or tucks himself into your arm. Does get pushed about a bit by Yin. Flew for the first time today and still prefers to be fed than feed himself. Probably the noisiest, but probably because he still wants feeding.

Love the treading on her head.
It’s amazing how at such a young age they do what they do. It’s great that they’re handled too.
It’s going to be hard to give any up, if you do

I can only imagine how wonderful it would be, being a part of raising 3 baby budgies. You are so lucky, and I'm so jealous 😁

And I've just moved them all into the main cage-they were getting too squashed in the breeding cage. Mum is unconvinced this is a change for the better, but currently keeping herself to herself. Dad is unsure whether to make the most of the bigger space, or rush round checking the chicks are okay and feeding them.
But the chicks are very funny! They've now got swings and toys I couldn't fit in the breeding cage, so they're a mixture of excited and horrified. They quite like snuggling up together on one of the swings, but then if one of them tries to get off, they're all in a panic. I've given them a first taste of millet-two of them went for it, the third wouldn't go near, and some parsley, which they're all a little sceptical about, but have eaten a little. They're currently all sitting at the top of the cage singing and cracking their beaks sounding very contented.
