I found my knees were getting bad going up stairs but now much better. I have given up bread as I am finding I am becoming intolerant to it. I love my slow cooker too. Has any one got an actifry? Im just not sure whether to get one Sorry Marianne taking over your thread🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

I'm doing calorie counting using an app. Well done to you too! Well done Marianne, are you doing Slimming World, Weight Watchers or on your own. I'm doing Weight Watchers and lost 32 lbs in the last 16 weeks. It is hard but persevering. Good luck.

ariella, yes Gluten Free food does seem to have more calories. I had Amy's kitchen burrito for dinner with mashed potato, peas and grated carrot. Still hungry after so had more tomatoes and rocket and a green tea. I'd love a cheese sandwich, I obsess over food when I'm dieting!

I too have noticed that gluten free foods are high in calories. I've stopped eating breads and pasta which I don't miss much because I'm not a big fan. I've a huge sweet tooth, oh my, the cookies, cake, donuts... I try to avoid looking at those in the store. The other day I was at my favorite grocery store (Trader Joe's for those in the US) and saw these really good gluten free cinnamon coffee cake muffins that I just had to buy! Yes they were yummy. Unfortunately I had eaten them in no time. That's why I have to avoid looking at gluten free sweets in the store. Yes, I could make them for myself but remember I'm the one who bought cleaned, peeled carrots to grow carrot tops for my guys because peeling regular carrots seems like too much work. I really like this forum for the education, budgie and otherwise. I had to google how much weight is a stone which lead to another tidbit on why the British measure weight in stones. Then I realized that I too would like to drop a stone in my weight.

Lol. I have a really sweet tooth too, sadly. I find if I eat bread as it is, it’s immediate that I blow up. If I have toast, I’m ok
I alternate between wanting cake or chocolate. I’ve stopped baking though as I ate half

hahaha I've stopped baking too. my freezer broke this week and I really, really missed it. I make my own ice cream and I just had to have strawberries on their own. My downfall is fruit and I have to limit myself. I can't do preservatives of colourings so cook foods from scratch. I have not labelled foods in the freezer (note to self, label foods next time) so this week has been a venture into the unknown to eat things quickly. My grand daughters were here when the freezer broken and they just loved thawed out ice cream and pain du chocolate for elevenses. Just a note to us all, do not try clothes on you have had for years, that don't fit, and still have to the labels on, in front of the other half. All he kept saying was "I haven't seen that"!!! Downside to this is that the long dresses (I wear them all day) I bought in the sale for half price are too flipping big, so now I will have to see if I can take them in. I wore a pair of cut off trousers the other day and my friend told me I looked liked someone had lent them to me, they were a bit big!!!! I thought they looked ok Have you tried the mug cakes, cooked in a mug in the microwave for 2 1/2 minutes made of bananas, egg and I think baking powder The are ok for a quick fix of something sweet.

suesbird I have tried the mug cakes, the gluten free ones. The chocolate and chocolate caramel ones had a funny taste and definitely unsatisfying. The yellow cake was good but needs frosting or jam on it so not good if on a diet and looking for a bit of something to satisfy a sweet tooth!
