Maybe I should put it in a dish instead of clipping it up. At least when they're out of the cage. It's more awkward on days when they're inside for most of it.

they are so soppy at times, not trying things that you know they will probably enjoy. I had an apple before, cut a bit off for Max.. he was sat on my desk with me.. As i ate mine, he didn't want to try his bit, but wanted mine.. So when I had had enough, i offered it too him.. he was ok with it.. didn't devour it.. but at least he tried

Then because he always wanted what I had I'd offer him one side of the flat edge and then eat from the other, which got wonderfully awkward as I attempted to eat around the apple. It meant neither of us ate a bit that had been in contact with the other though.

Thanks for the picture Marianne Marlow. It shows me that I don't need to do anything special to it. I'll give it to them at lunch time. Hope they at least try it.

I just wash and dry it and put it in the bowl. This is their progress earlier, but by now, Colin threw most of the tiny cobs on the floor, after taking the majority of the nice bits off! Thanks for the picture Marianne Marlow. It shows me that I don't need to do anything special to it. I'll give it to them at lunch time. Hope they at least try it.

My lot just don't seem to know how to eat it. I offered a piece to Munchy and nibbled another, so naturally he wanted the piece I was eating, and the others came over to see what Munchy had, but even though Munchy managed to break off two tiny kernels he just instantly dropped them, and the others kinda just licked it. I'll keep trying though. I did then get some gentle eyebrow preens from Munchy, and Pippin licked my thumb twice, so it was a nice interaction.

I put one piece of the baby corn, cut into 4 pieces, in with their sprouts which are their favorite. They licked it but didn't eat it. Disappointed! I've a whole package to go through trying to get them to eat it!

Try it different ways. I just serve it whole, but if I clip it to the cage, they like that too. I put one piece of the baby corn, cut into 4 pieces, in with their sprouts which are their favorite. They licked it but didn't eat it. Disappointed! I've a whole package to go through trying to get them to eat it!

Bailey liked tinned corn. Squishing out the insides. Also peas in pods

My baby corn must have been old Marianne Marlow because it started to go bad before I could try it on them again. I'll get more from the store and try it again. The tropical fruits are ripening here now! A friend has several varieties of trees in his yard and he brought me a bag of guava yesterday and some persimmons and pomegranates all of which I love. I often don't get many guava because they are expensive in the store. I've already eaten a couple of the guava - yummmmm. They don't last long on the shelf and my friend said they freeze well. I'll make a few into guava syrup which is wonderful on fish or just on top of veggies and rice. Basically I just boil the guavas, scoop out the seeds, mix in the blender and return to the pot and simmer until its clear and the right consistency. Some people cook it with sugar to make a jam. My question is, can I feed the budgies the seeds? Maybe mona or Hezz have fed their budgies guava seeds or seen them eating the seeds/fruit in the wild? One google source said its OK but another said no.

Not something I’ve tried, but my search on three sites found all saying guava seeds and fruit are good for parrots but should be considered a treat food … the reasoning behind that wasn’t explained, perhaps simply because it is a fruit, rather than veg.

Thank you. I'll see if my picky eaters will try it.
