I doubt very much it's organic, you could always ask.
Once again, we come back to mass production, in relation to the millions of coffee's these shops sell on a daily basis, I would doubt very much if it was cost effective.
They probably contribute more than anyone to the treatment these poor cows have to suffer.

Just watched Panorama for the second time with my OH who didn't see it on Monday, I was just as upset watching it again 😢😢
OH was shocked at the treatment of these poor animals.

:'-(
I have sent Starbucks a query. As much as I love their lattes, I will not have them if they are not organic and free range.
I may ask Pret and Costa too.

Missing out on a few lattes seems trivial compared to the suffering of those poor animals. I applaud 👏👏 your ethics Marianne. Will be interesting to see their reply.

ARGH!!! I bought some yoghurts recently and have discovered they have carmine in them, so of course I cannot eat them.
I am going to have to look into organic yoghurt (and possibly cheese?!) for the next shopping trip.

He said it was nice. Just smelling it, I thought I had a migraine coming on! I'll let you know what I think of the milk when I taste it. I still have a few of the "normal" ones to get through. How about Eve - does she like the taste of the organic or is she not picky about what you feed her? I'm not a big coffee drinker and typically have one or two cups at home. I have gone into Starbucks with friends (I usually get iced tea or lemonade). Starbucks here has many choices for "milk - oat, almond, goats milk, etc as well as organic cow milk. You do pay a little more for that but I hear many people ask for the organic. Maybe that's just a California thing?

If we all did a tiny bit, we might start to make a difference, I truly hope so. I hope so too jellybean. Every bit helps and hopefully more and more people will make the change too.

Of the supermarkets I've been to Sainsbury's has the biggest organic range including butternut squash and sweet potatoes. Sainsbury's is on the other side of town though so I don't go there often. I buy organic butter and eggs. I don't eat cheese or yoghurt, but I do see organic of both in the supermarkets. It's really hard to find organic bread near me. Our Tesco has stopped selling it, so I've started making my own as organic flour is easier to get.
I really wish the law would change to make all cows free range.

I just can’t imagine cattle that aren’t free range. And there are no cattle in Aus that aren’t outside. Even feedlot cattle - those feed extra grain as opposed to pasture feeding - aren’t strictly confined. I realise some of this comes from the climate they live in, and perhaps lack of grazing space, but it really does make my mind boggle.

I agree Hezz. There are areas in the US with more open space than other areas, especially the midwest (think cowboy land). I guess the cows are kept in barns all day for the convenience of the farmers so they don't have to go out and round them up for milking.
